Spoiler If you watched the recap episode last week they detailed a few of the characters. Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sawyer, Sayid and Sun. If I had to guess, that would be my Oceanic 6.
What do you guys mean by "Oceanic 6?" I heard them say that on the previews but wasn't sure what they meant. 6 people that get off the island?
correct. there will be only 6 guys from oceanic flight 815 who'll leave the island. but there will be others who were not on the plane who will also leave. Spoiler from what i've read the next episode will be sayid centric and episode 4 will just blow your mind.
In the premiere during Hurley's flash forward, he freaks out in a mini mart and leads cops on a car chase. When they catch him he screams "Do you know who I am? I'm one of the Oceanic 6!" The presumably means that only 6 people left or got off the island. We know Jack and Kate are two of them because they both appeared in the flash forward of last seasons finale. This season's opener confirmed that Hurley got off the island. That means there are 3 others who got off as well but the show hasn't shown who they are yet even though we have a pretty good idea.
Good episode tonight, but little irritated by the questions that keep on popping up over and over and over. Spoiler BTW Is Desmond one of the 6 because he was on the Heli?
On Desmond, he's obviously not one of the Oceanic 6 because he wasn't on the plane, but obviously, as we saw at the end, the 6 aren't the only ones are off island during the flashfowards.
I appreciate everyone that's being careful with the spoilers. I'm even more convinced about the snowglobe/pinhole/space-time nexus theory at this point (but of course I would be). The Rocket "slipping" in time (Back to the Future allusion?), Benry with all the passports and currencies (easy travel via the Island pinholes?).... Hurley pulling a Lando Calrissian? Sayid's flashforward was awesome...the "moment I trust him I lose my soul" comment was a little too much of a tell. Also noticed the African masks....and more intriguing the constellation map in Ben's room. The Sundra Trench site of the hoax Oceanic Flight 815 as opposed to being on the other side of Australia is still awfully confusing to me. Why plant a Sydney-LA flight in the Indian Ocean? Does Kate bring Sawyer back to LA with her? Do Desmond and Juliette also get off the island but just "not count" as part of the Oceanic 6 like Ben? Man, they've kicked this season off in the best way. Evan
This season has been unreal thus far. There isnt any filler and Im loving it. Im definantly ready to see this freighter. Hoping for a Desmond episode next week. Explain this: Sawyer is my 2nd favorite character (Behind Locke). Kate is my least favorite. Yet, I want them to end up together. Stupid...

Really? I've been a huge fan of this series...but last night lost me. There's a bit of jumping the shark here, as the show gets farther and farther away from the things that drew me in. It's taking turns that are getting a bit tiresome to me. I'm sure I'll keep watching, because I'm too invested in it now.
Wow, I'm just the opposite. I think it's getting better and better. This season so far has been incredible.
