Lol @ this post. JVG won 50+ games with Ryan Bowen and Chuck Hayes as starters.

If JVG was coaching this team, there is no way they let LA sweep them. The personality of this team is already very relaxed. Then when you add a non-chalant coach..
Opponents put 11-0 runs on us and nobody is bothered.

I mean 50+ wins. I believe that if everybody healthy, Rockets should be closed to 70 wins this season. with Ron or Tmac out, they still can win 60. If both out, they should have 50+ wins. They are just really deep team with intellegent players.

By "ESPN's analysts", you mean Mark Jackson. Knowing very well how difficult it is to get the ball to our franchise player at the end of the game, that the Lakers were exploiting him with pick and rolls on defense, and that the Rockets were down double digits with just a few minutes left (so they needed to quicken the pace, try to force turnovers if possible, and start hitting 3s) ... why is it automatic that Yao Ming is our best option there?

I hate this simplistic mindset that if a guy is your "franchise player", he automatically makes you better at the end of the game. if you're an analyst, that means you have to look at the game analytically and have precise reasons for your views. "Yao is the franchise player" isn't good enough.

    Blasphemy!!!

But agreed. Not much I have to add. Other than Mark Jackson is a poor analyst. Wonder how he is feeling about that Portland pick over JVG's Rockets pick from Sunday afternoon.

To be fair, the effort to get Yao the ball in that game is minium by the team, players ran wild play sets, and RA did nothing about it. It's not just one game, it's been like that for a while. Coach needs to take some blame for let players make the same mistake intentionally time after time.

To me, the RA's weaknesses are:
    1. Can't control players when they go wild, thus often lose control when the game is on the line.

    2. Doesn't have good set plays, usually comes out empty after a Time Out.

    3. Doesn't know how to use Yao to his full strength. When Morey said Yao is playing his best basketball in his career, yet his touches are significantly down compare to previouse years, something is obviously wrong.

We hear how Artest has "matured" but the Kings got rid of him the moment when things began to turn when an extension wasn't offered. Even this season there were things happening behind the scenes where the Rockets considered moving him, eg not happy playing off the bench even though he had claimed the opposite.

We don't know what Adelman's instructions are during timeouts and or if the players are subsequently blowing plays. I do recall one game where a good number of posters blamed Adelman for a loss but in Feigen's blog he revealed how afterwards Barry spent some time with Yao in the locker room to go over the play which Yao had bungled.

Yao doesn't bungle plays. Plays get scared of Yao and bungle themselves.

    :p

Adelman needs to sit them down if they keep doing that, Yao ore not. He has the power as head coach. JVG would yell the **** out of Yao. And JVG wouldn't let Artest gone wild like that.

Well didn't Yao play almost all the freaking game I saw he was pretty tired going into the 4th quarter.
