What does this stand for? And how much is it worth?

Lower Level Exemption its worth around 1.7 million. It can only be given a 2 year maximum deal and cannot be used in consecutive years. We did not use it last year as we split the MLE between Sura and Ward.

    No.

1 year deal for about 1.7
2 year deal for about 3.5 (can put team, or more likely, player option, on the 2nd year)

That is what it can do, it might snag a lux tax causualty or otherwise useful sub late in free ageny (when most the MLE's are played out), not much else.

I have thought the same thing, and think it would be smart. Rather have Stoud with it though.

me too. realistically i think we will S&T for DS and then sign spree for the LLE once the MLE's around the league have been spent.

Unless DS agrees to it, I don't see what good the LLE does for us with the glut of guards on our team. We need quality, not more quantity in the backcourt. Hopefully we have some trade ideas on the horizon to be announced on, or shortly after, August 1st.

How could you add a TE or player to a contract? The LLE isn't for trades. It's a type of contract we can offer free agents, just like the MLE except with considerably less money.

Exactly. You guys think Spree is going to take the LLE after all of the b****ing he did about his contract? Keep dreaming.

is anyone going to offer him more? if no one does, would he rather retire?

his agent said only 3 teams contacted him. is a 36 year old head case going to command more that half the MLE ($2.5M)? the longest contract he would get is 2 years. our LLE offer would be for 2 years, $1.7M. he gets to re-join JVG, and play with yao, stro, tmac, maybe stoudamire.

i don't think this is a pipe dream. if you think spree will get signed to a bigger contract you are mistaken.

You could be right, maybe I'm over estimating his value. Even with all of his baggage I still think he's a productive offensive player that would command more than we can offer. If he could keep his mouth shut and just play I think he'd be a steal for any team at that price.

do you see one of our gaurd will be left out with it prob., being Wesley on a trade but then we would have at the3-TMAC, Barry (for what 5 min. right? sub for tmac not needed) 2-Sura, Head, Barry 1-Stoud (if signed) James that would leave us pretty deep and that looks like a team i would want out there, if we do not sign a pg we are kinda a weird team with no true pg running the show and Mike James coming off the bench to run the show is score first time not that the time isnt wrong but we need Stoud and that will solidify our team or a good pg that can distribute and throw the oop.

Look like were the front runners for Damon.....but he won't except the LLE.

According to hoopshype were at about 55.35 mil....with Swift add another 6 or so.............brings us to around 61.35 mil.

We would have to do S&T for Damon......and they would want us to take Patterson which woudn't be so bad cuz he can back up T-mac at the three and he has 2 yrs reaming at around 6 mil.

My question is were at 61.35 or around that much can we still resign deke and barry. Barry will take the LLE for sure. How much will deke come for?

Isn't that below the league minimum. It's like throwing peanuts at a wooly mammoth frozen in the antartic tundra, just before an ice age, and just after the extinction of its close cousin the unwooly mammoth.
