I posted this on a thread before, but I did not get input, but I was wanting input on this lineup: I was thinking if we had a lineup like the following, for maybe even 7-8 minutes to get a nice run going a game it would help... Center- Yao PF- Mutumbo Sf- Swift Sg- Tmac Pg- Luther Head On offense: Luther and T-Mac are both great scoring options at the guard, obviously. Yao is going to either get the one on one and most likely hit the shots, if he draws a double team, no defender can leave tmac or head, so they will leave swift and in that case passing it to swift creates some nasty dunks. Mutumbo will not be an offensive force.. Defense Mcgrady truly is a defense force... Yao and Mutumbo--- get out of the paint... no chance in here... Swift- swift will stuff a shooter, so unless the fake him out, in which case he will jump, they will drive around him and get stuffed by yao or mutumbo ... head- head just has to control the point and we are good i think this lineup will create a nice run even if its only for half a quarter.. it is like the lineup with head, mcgrady, anderson, swift, and yao-- its another lineup to start a nice run
Mutombo puts in our best rebounder and shot blocker on the floor at PF and that's good. In reality Mutombo's foot speed can't be that much slower than Jho on defense or he would be crawling. Problem is JVG will not play this line up. He seldom ever lets Mutombo on the floor if Yao is on the court.
Mutombo and Yao cant go together. Way too slow, and it was tried last year. Swift cant handle a SF, Juwan Howard can, but not Stro.
This lineup will never happen because neither Mutombo nor Swift is much of a shooter. We allready see what happens when Bowen is in the game with Yao and a pf. That is Bowen's man immidiately slides over to double team Yao in the low post, one man fronting and another behind him, denying Yao the ball. This would never work if Bowen could hit a 18 ft jump shot. With Mutombo and/or Swift the problem would be even greater seeing as how we would have two players whom the opposing team could rotate off of and at least one would be forced to play on the perimeter.
Thankfully, that lineup will never happen at all this year unless it's on an inbounds pass with less than 5 seconds remaining in a quarter or a game.
Its a decent Idea...but i have a question for u...how will be defend the pick n' roll with this lineup?? If you think Yao has trouble getting back to his man on that play, just wait to see how much trouble Deke will have.
So you protect downlow and that's it? That lineup would get destroyed on pick and rolls, on the break, and basically any kind of perimeter by the opposing team. Yao and Deke would stand no chance against any kind of quick offense, plus, Swift isn't a good perimeter defender. I really want to see this lineup on the floor more: Yao Swift TMac DA Head
Yeah, that's my starting line up.. win with no problem on all star, sometimes superstar level.. thats nba live of course thanks for the input all of you
Yes, yes, if it works on NBA2k6, it must work in the actual NBA. Because we know NBA2K6 is an accurate simulation, what with Juwan Howard defying all known laws of physics by dunking from the top of the key while in a stationary position. Yes, very accurate. JVG would be an idiot not to cancel practice in favor of video game sessions.
i would like to see this lineup: Yao Mutumbo Juwon Swift Tmac That would be the tallest lineup in the history!!!!!! Bwahahahahahha!!!!!
i see your sarcasm... but you didnt see mine when i said "thats nba live of course" i did not suggest that lineup because of nba live, i thought it out... i still think its viable although yeah anderson instead of swift could work better.. i think its viable for some teams we are playing, but not all the teams... if we did it against phoenix we would be destroyed but i think it would have worked against memphis..
We would get small-balled to death. We are having enough problems when teams go small with just Yao on the court. If we put Deke out there we is sunk...
