Hang in there, man. And here's a bit of perspective that I hope helps: Half the world — nearly three billion people — live on less than two dollars a day Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names. Almost two in three people lacking access to clean water survive on less than $2 a day, with one in three living on less than $1 a day. Some 1.1 billion people in developing countries have inadequate access to water, and 2.6 billion lack basic sanitation. Not a guilt trip....but you are blessed, nonetheless.
R2K is Batman. KRAMER: Yeah, yeah, then all of a sudden, this guy pulls out a gun. Well, I knew any delay is gonna cost her her pinky toe, so I got out of the seat and I started walking towards him. He says, "Where do you think you're going, Cracker Jack?" I said, "Well, I got a little prize for ya, buddy - " - knocked him out cold! GEORGE: How could you do that?! KRAMER: Then everybody is screamin,' because the driver, he's passed out from all the commotion...the bus is out of control! So, I grab him by the collar, I take him out of the seat, I get behind the wheel and now I'm drivin' the bus. GEORGE: You're Batman. KRAMER: Yeah. Yeah, I am Batman. Then the mugger, he comes to, and he starts chokin' me! So I'm fightin' him off with one hand and I kept drivin' the bus with the other, y'know? Then I managed to open up the door, and I kicked him out the door with my foot, you know - at the next stop. JERRY: You kept makin' all the stops? KRAMER: Well, people kept ringin' the bell! GEORGE: Well, what about the toe? What happened to the toe? KRAMER: Well! I am happy to say that the little guy is back in place at the end of the line. GEORGE: You did all this...for a pinky toe? KRAMER: Well, it's a valuable appendage.
A long time ago I heard that a paperboy here makes more money than half the world's population. That thought always kept my head above water.
Hmmm...I'm going to give props to my fellow Americans. I live in a country that is the most charitable country in the world, by almost double the next country. Both in total dollars and relative dollars (percentage GNP).
[Soapbox] Ready for the secret?? No matter your problems, find a way to serve other people. You'll quickly forget your own concerns when you're involved in other's lives. They'll seem smaller to you. You'll find peace in that. [/Soapbox] sorry for the sermon!
I have too many blessings to count. I'd have to say having a boyfriend who's also my best friend is something to really be thankful for. Almost two years now. I've also cultivated a great relationship with my parents over the past year, something I've never really had. I struggled with depression as a teen because I felt like I could never please them. My mom is like a friend to me now, she gives me guidance but lets me be my own person. Everything has seemingly fallen into place lately.
Did you marry someone from Katy? I know someone from Katy who recently married their longtime boyfriends...around 10 years. If so, gimme the initials. Congrats man!
Maybe so. Sometimes I see a homeless person in front the post office when I pick up mail and would give a dollar if I have smaller bills(I rarely carry cash in excess of $40) They're stunningly aggressive too. I gave a guy a dollar and he told me that wasn't enough. Maybe so.... but beggars can't be choosers, take it or leave it. I felt more like good riddance after that. Helping others do make me feel better though. I ain't sweating anything though cause "God won't put you in a position you can't handle" and I don't put myself in situations I can't handle.
Life is good! My family just got my mother back home yesterday from basically a 3 month stay at the hospital. She has been through so much it is just a blessing that she is back in her own bed at night! What makes me feel like a loser is she did not complain once, and I b**** and moan when I get up for work. Like the previous posts state we take so much for granted in our everyday life that we don't know how good we have it! Never underestimate the power of prayer!
