I have a feeling the Dems will forgive him and continue to use his seat. I would strip and boot him from the party and influence moderate Republicans instead (not Lieberman) to vote with the Dems. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081105/ap_on_el_se/obama_lieberman_5
I'm with you. Lieburpman can vote with any party he likes. I could care less, now that we have 57 or 58 seats.
He should. I, for one, don't want him in our caucus, no matter what sort of tiebreaker he might provide. And I'll be sorely disappointed if he isn't stripped of his chairmanship.
I gotta ask. Do people really find these types of name changes funny? Lieburpman? Snobama? McSame? Shrub? Does this stuff really make people laugh?
Strip him of his chairmanship. Leave it up to him if he wants to move to the other side. There needs to be some sort of punishment for bailing on the party.
halfbreed, I've been calling him LIEberman for a long time now, so I figured I was being restrained. And honestly, if you haven't noticed before, and I'm surprised that you haven't, my humor is goofy, as in not very good goofy. My jokes, when I make them (not often) are because I find them funny. If no one else does, it really doesn't bother me. I learned that from my Dad, who was a master of the "dumb joke." As long as he laughed at his own efforts, he didn't care what anyone else thought (and how we suffered! ). LIEberman fits the A-Hole very well. When he told the Democratic leadership he wanted to address the Republican convention in support of his friend, John McCain, they weren't happy about it, but they said they'd let it go by as long as he didn't speak ill of Senator Obama. He promised that he wouldn't. He lied. Do you get LIEberman now?
