Wheeler may be more dissapointed with the way he is pitching, than losing his role as closer.

lol, you also said this WAY too prematurely.

with lidge's history, you never could say with certainty that a little over 10 innings at the time was a solid sample size. now 23/24 innings later with 2 earned runs in that stretch, lidge does indeed look like he's returned to form. however, there's also ANOTHER test before we all declare lidge back, and that is how he performs in the closer's role once he gets there.

i'm still nervous with him but he's been dominant for a good stretch. you have to find out if he can do it in the ninth again so you might as well do it now.

Assuming his comeback is legit, I think this is bigger than any of us can imagine. I don't know if anyone has looked lately, but our bullpen has been crap, just crap. Qualls, and Wheeler were out of pitching out of position and as a result we've got ERA's we're dealing with of 4.02 and 5.40, and what do we have besides them? Borkowski? I think alot of our season is on the line with Lidge's comeback. I'm stoked, cuz I think this is real, I think Qualls and Wheeler will go back to 2005 form and we'll start to see this team become competive again...
