I just read this quote on CNN.com... Bush has shown "how easy it is to hornswoggle liberals," said Anne Coulter, an author and political commentator. "All you have to do is go around calling yourself nice. He just treats liberals like small children having nightmares. Darn if it didn't work." Now, I know that conservatives tend to think of liberals as naive and immature - my father-in-law, a conservative, said of the Bush administration, "Finally, we have some grown ups in office." I get that. I also get the fact that liberals are considered elitist. Northeastern liberals are often called elitist and are portrayed as fake. I get that. I also get that liberals have a tendency to think of conservatives as lacking in progressive thought - backwards or that conservatives are too serious and put money ahead of people. All of those things are really differences in opinion. Honest. Fair. Just different. What I want to know is do conservatives honestly believe that liberals are stupid or vice versa? I know that I don't agree with conservatives but I don't consider them stupid. Or is it just that conservatives consider liberals naieve or vice versa? In all honesty, I can see it both ways. Conservatives think that liberals are naive enough to think that the government can fix everyone's problems (social welfare, tax and spend). Liberals believe that conservatives are naive enough to think that problems will just go away (just say no, answer to teen pregnancy is abstinence). I'm just wondering if conservatives out there or liberals out there consider the other, honestly, to be stupid. ------------------ Me fail English? That's unpossible.

From my experiences, I've met about an equal number of "stupid" conservatives and liberals. I respect everyone's opinions like I want them to respect mine. Afterall, if everybody agrees that politicians are sleazy, why get emotional and defend a sleaze ball? Think about it, liberal and conservative is just a name.
