Is Jesse James as a ruthless murderer really debatable? These wackos love the guy.

    Examples of 'notes' for James:
hey jesse i want u to know im proud of what u did. u were fightin for your beliefs and u didnt let nobody stop you. you have always been my hero. LONG LIVE REBELS!!

Jess, from all i can learn about you,
you were truly a western hero.If only
I could have lived when you did and known you. When the south rises again
I want to ride with you.

I really like the logic here...

this is to all of the people who are too rude or stupid to know that this is a place where we remeber people. if you were here instead of him would you want people to leave these types of things??? think about it before you do something this ignorant. jesse james may have killed innocent people but so have many other people. atleast have the decency to leave a good letter or nothing at all when writing to the dead. and maybe he cant read this but people who want to know about him can. yes jesse was a murderer but for god's sake how many other people were also?? may god have mercy on your soul for your ignorant attitudes and stupid minds.

Good God! The South is rising again! Send in the troops!

Seriously, Jesse James was portrayed as a Robin Hood figure back then for several reasons, among them being one or two examples where they did make distinctions between the rich and the poor, and only robbed the rich ( the qualifier was the state of your hands...rough hands meant you were not robbed)..but not to give to the poor.

He also practiced self-agrandisement by leaving writen accounts of his own robberies and was viewed by many at the time as merely upholding the South's fight after the war was lost, and was therefore something of a folk hero to some for a while. The his family was attacked by Pinkerton agents, which got others on his side, and finally he was shot in his own home with his wife and children in the same house, in the back of the head while unarmed by a bribed confederate. All these elements have added to the James mystique, and have helped overshadow his involvment in the Lawrence, Kansas raid with Quantrill, and all the other 'innocents' he killed.

Has anybody found any dead relatives on the site? I searched for both my grandfathers and my uncle but couldn't find anything...
