Prolly just a drop of water in a sea of reactionary threads but I haven't seen this point covered, can we stop with calling the Jazz floppers, I have not seen them flop all series long and if any team can be called floppers to this point in the series it has to be the Rockets. We bring over Shane Battier who to this point in the series has done little else except flop, in fact it's his only contribution so far, scratch that he has atleast twice as many blocking calls so far. Juwon and Chuck also flop way more than the Jazz team I have watched. Flopping is essentially a b!tch azz way to play defense and falls right in line with everything the Rox have done in this series. Yao is a soft azzed fadeaway monster and Tracy is NOT a great player. He talks like one but when the time comes to walk the walk he wilts under the preasure. The rest of our team is not good enough to step up and create for themselves and while they probably atleast on par with the Kobe Shaq lead role players, Yao and Tmac are nowhere close to as good as Shaq and Kobe were.

I have trouble believing that even if we win game 7 we are nothing but fodder for the next team we face. This team just does not have IT. They are good enough to look like contenders when most teams sleep walk through the regular season but when teams really show up for the playoffs, they quickly expose Yao for the one trick pony he is, too slow on defense and too soft on offense. Tracy played like a carbon copy of what the media has painted him to be, a choker; I wanted to belive he just didn't have the talent around him to win in previous years but Kirlenko owned his azz tonight and he could not even take advantage of a midget like Fisher when he was gaurding him.

Reactionary, sure; but this team has been exposed by just a DECENT NBA team like the Jazz. You need individual talent to win in today's NBA, you need multiple players who can create and score, Tracy has played like a punk. Yao though has played like a three legged dinosaur. I put all of the fault on the players but sadly JVG will be the one to go and much like the Texans recipe for disaster, we will get more sunshine pumped up our azzes and the team will be exposed again unless some real talent is aded, not likely.

Athleticism wins in today's NBA, not post up and damn sure not fadeaways out of the post. Tracy when he gets hot is an amazing jumpshooter but he will not win with that style first because every jumper will not fall second because it does no good for the team watching him hoist jumper after jumper.

My original point was about the flopping and in this series we have "flopped" tons more than the jazz who have actually played with heart something the rox have not done. Anyway, here's hoping the Rox prove all of this wrong in game seven and beyond.

The only good thing about tonight is atleast Barkley's fat azz has to work instead of party with the stars at Mayweather DLH. Other than that I having a hard time finding any positives in what has been a dismal yet eye opening series so far.

    Peace out.

This is your best point. Absolutely concur with all the rest except for the part about being sad JVG must go. JVG built this team, so he should be held responsible for it.

    Hey Summer !!

    Welcome back !!!!!

If you want to watch flopping, watch the Mavs...

    :D

Houston is not a championship team yet....needs more pieces.....and a PG/SG/SF that can create off the dribble and hit a jumper.

sometimes its like, ok rockets lose... but its like they dont even care when they do lose, or when they are in the process. like they show no fight at all. then tmac all smiling and laughing at the press conference, saying its not the biggest game of his career   we'll see what happens

The Rockets traded away athletic guys Mike James, Stromile Swift and Rudy Gay for non-athletic Rafer and Battier while our other athletic players rot on the bench. Athleticism for JVG's taste is either to be on the end of bench or the top of trading list. As a result, we don't have an athletic players except T-Mac on our starting 5 and our bench is so short by JVG's choice to provide athleticism. I don't know how you want more athleticism yet is reluctant to call it on JVG.

Big difference between flopping and taking a charge. Hayes and Battier and Howard put their bodies on the line and take a beating to draw the offensive foul.

I haven't really seen the Jazz flopping too much...really the main culprit has been Okur...he has been pushing on Yao all series, and when Yao tires to fight back..so much as breathes on him, he'll act like he just got steamrolled.

But to say that the Rockets flop is seriously misjudging the hard work that Hayes and co. bring to the table.

There's nothing you can do when you have a bunch of garbage (Rafer, Head, etc) and has beens (Deke, Howard) on the floor, alongside two soft star players. You need Robert Horry and Sam Cassell types in the playoffs. I.E. guys who have heart and are hungry to win.

I guess we're watching different games  Just because Chuck or Shane gets knocked down doesn't mean they are flopping. Getting set and taking a charge or getting called for a block are different from flopping. Flopping is when you "fake a call"... falling down when you are barely touched (e.g. Brent Price knocking Karl Malone to the ground).

Attempting to take a charge and being unsuccesful and called for a block is a judgement call by the refs - certainly not a blatent attempt to cheat by Shane or Chuck. The only time I ever felt one of the Rockets tried to manipulate the Refs was when Robert Reid would drive the lane and throw up his hands even if he wasn't hit and try to manipulate a call (a la Magic).

Honestly, the Jazz are not flopping as much as in the past, but when Okur tangles arms with Yao and falls back 5-10 feet - that is much more of a flop than anything that Shane, Chuck or Juwan have done all series long.

The Jazz played a better game and deserved to win game 6, but to call out the Rockets as bigger floppers is quite ludicrous.

    Don't agree with you there.

I fear the Jazz more than I fear the Warriors.
