A win tonight, followed by crushing the Cavs, would get the team revved up for Thursday night's showdown against the Mavs. That's one game i don't want to miss! They're still undefeated, and if the Rockets win, we are gonna get a ton of media attention! And even though it is so early in the season, i think the confidence would carry though to the playoffs (right now we're 6th seed in the West, after a 3-game win streak, we should be back at #3...) Go Rockets!
The rockets will need to play good team ball, especially against the Mavs. They will need to execute plays, get the defenders out of position. The Mavs have a lot of height in Dirk and Bradley, many times on the floor at the same time. Trying to drive through them could prove fruitless if there aren't any passing opportunities (assists). I watched their game against Boston, and it looks like they play good team ball. They had their share of blunders though. Somebodies going to have to stop Dirk. Go ROX!
The Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley version of the Rockets have always matched up well against the Mavericks and have never lost a season series against them. This is a game that could prove to be very good. A lot of teams gain unity and chemistry while on the road. If the Rockets can play as a team and beat both the Lakers and Cavs then I think it will go a long way towards bringing them closer together as a team. An upset against the Mavericks would be huge.
I hope they are still undefeated when we see them, so we can be the first to record their first lost.
The Mavs are a joke. They will reach the Western Finals, only to lose to the Lakers. They may just well beat the Rockets, but there are still not physical enough to play with the Kings or Lakers. Remember when Cuttino Mobley trashed the Mavs when the Rockets won in Dallas last season. I forgot exactly when he said, but it was awesome
"I was just being aggressive," Mobley said. "In that situation you've got to turn it up. Those guys are doing what they want to do. They're hitting threes and laughing when they make a mistake. All right, it's cool. It ain't that funny when we come back and run it in your butt. How about that?" Classic
The Rockets match up pretty good against the Mavericks, so I'm looking forward to this win. As much I do every win.
I hope the Rockes aren't looking ahead to the game against the Mavs. As fans, though, we seem to always play the Mavs well, or one team or the other gets blown out. Hopefully the team will have some sort of offensive consistency going by Thursday.
We always play the Mavs good. Even with things a bit different we still match up well with them. I can't remember if it was last year or the one before when we gave them the worst loss of their season. If we're on our game we win, it should be a good game regardless. Plus it's sweeter because of the city rivalry.
