    Its obivious that Rafer hasn't done really nothing the last 4 games but brick a lot of threes and turned over the ball with some bad passes. This is not an "I hate Rafer" thread cause I don't. He is a good player that plays with a lot of effort, but the truth is in the putting.When we were down 17 against Boston, AB came in and all of a sudden we go on a 20+ pt run! He made it look like our bench was better than our starting lineup. :eek: I know its to early too even talk about AB starting over Rafer but how much longer will we have to see him miss open shot after shot. Teams are literally leaving him open cause they know that he's not a consistent 3pt shooter and he's proven them right so far. We need AB to be on the court as much as Tmac cause he makes plays for us consistently with his ability to get to the basket or finding the open man much like Tony Parker for the Spurs. Now imagine the Spurs offence without Tony Parker...
    He has also proven in the preseason and now the in regular season that he can hit the open three and he can be a guy that can be counted on late in games. When he was in Oregon he was the main guy that was counted on late in games and he delivered time after time with clutch shots that won several games too, might I add.

    This is the year that makes us or breaks us and I say if not now then when? I finish this with a quote that Tmac said about Aaron, " He's ready."

    As much as i would love for brooks to start, where does that leave rafer? cuz he sure as hell can't run the 2nd offense or provide a spark off the bench.

    His best fit is in the starting lineup with the big three because they mask his deficiencies. What he does best is he is a low turnover guy who facilitates the offense. Other than that, he's pretty much worthless.

    Cross your fingers for FRANCHISE!

    Alston FG% so far (first 4 games):

    FG%: 6/29 => 0.207
    3PT% : 4/19 => 0.211

    :eek: :mad:

    i think it's time to test the theory that rafer is at his best when his starter job is in danger.

    I love Aron Brooks. RA was not making assists these 4 games.As a PF,he should be shamed.

    Adelman still trusts Rafer. Otherwise, he wouldn't have put him back in the game in the fourth quarter. He thinks Rafer's defense and ability to "organize" the offense with our stars on the floor makes him very valuable.

    He seems to be a bad SF than a good PF.

    Alston may be playing badly right now, but Brooks is just a liability on defense.

    See the And+1 by Ray Allen at the end of the game? He just bullied him with the offensive rebound and laid it back up. Brooks couldn't do anything.

    For match up purposes, Alston is better off as the starter with Brooks coming off the bench.

    AB is a undersized SG who tried way too hard to play point (now that he is reverting back to his natural position, he is playing much better), while Rafer is a poor shooting PG.

    There is a distinct and fundamental difference.

    Rafer is our best PG on the defensive end no doubt and I know it's D that wins you championships, but whats the good in that if you cant score worth a lick. With or without Rafer, our D will be strong, but he cant just keep on shooting 3s like he was against Boston cause it leads too long rebounds that just ends up as an easy bucket on transition. And isn't that what's killin us too, teams getting easy buckets on transition? I mean COME ON! I cant even hit open threes with him on NBA 2k9!!!!!!!!!!!

    Coach Rick, please start Aaron. Let him learn how to overcome his liabilities on the defense early in the season. Come playoff time he'll have confidence.

    Just a thought, trade rafer for a more consistent PG or together with luther plus filler for Mike Miller. At this point having a more consistent threat on the court with our big 4(Including Luis/AB/Carl) is more effective than having Rafer at point. Besides, we have Tmac, Brent, and especially AB to run the point.

    Plus, GM Daryl should get Mcdyess if Denver decides to waive him. He brings a veteran presence, height, and midrange shooting at backup PF/C position. :)

    I think rafer needs to get into form. Brooks is a spark we need for his off nights.

    This isn't a theory. It's a fact.

    Wait till Francis comes back. We all think he's done, so he will put extra effort in.

    However, tonight's game is no indication. Rafer had 7 assists to 1 TO. Aaron had a assists and 2 TO's. Rafer was far superior in passing, and Brooks far superior in scoring. Which one do we need more?

    I think defense and passing are what we need most right now from the PG position.

    Everything will be better once Battier starts and Artest comes off the bench.

    He let Rando scored at will and you called him the best pg on D?
    Allstar Pg = any pg when playing rockets

    Did I say that...? No! I said he is OUR best PG on the defensive end but he definitely isn't the best defensive PG. I still rather see Aaron Brooks start doh.

    Tonights game is no indication? He had seven assists cause he couldn't score against the Celtics D so he had to pass it to other teammates. But it's not like he created any shots for anyone besides the one play early in the game where he drove in and dish it to Yao for the dunk. Other than that, he really didn't create any shot for us. Its also not like Brooks cant get his dimes too. It just that he can score it when we needed the buckets.

    Even if he played up to par he's still not a good fantasy player. Drop his ass already.
