This is the nadir. The low point. Things can't get any worse. We have just witnessed two of the biggest choke jobs in Houston Rockets history. There is no way we're coming out of this hole. The above refers not to November 2004, but to May 1994. I can count on 100 hands the number of people I know who repeated the above mantra after the Rockets' 2nd loss to Phoenix in the 2nd round of the playoffs that year. I don't remember much from the 1990s, but I remember that. I remember being at SRO on FM 1960 and 5 people actually throwing their beer mugs at the big screen after the end of game 2. It was just a sickening feeling. This does not even compare in the least. Yes, I watched both games, and my wooden tray table can no longer stand upright, but I just have this feeling that things will either right-size themselves or changes will be made. I'm not a fan of JVG, nor of most of the team, but I do believe in Ming, and I do believe in McGrady, and I do believe in Alexander. I think Alexander is going to eventually get the right pieces around M&M, including the coach, and I feel we are on the right track to reach the top. That being said, I think every fan has the right to vent. Scream. Shout. Break something (although beating the crap out of a pillow is less expensive). Refuse to watch any more Rockets games until the team gets their stuff together. Yet, I'm still gonna watch. We'll get there eventually. Trust me, trading for McGrady will be viewed as one of the best things we have done. Let's get on their case for horrid play without jumping ship.
LOL, last year I broke my wooden table. This year.....I'm just shaking my head right now. Especially since there is basically an entire new team out there, and the same schitt is still happening. Makes you wonder what's really going on.
Were you that red head freckle faced boy on the commercial that was strumming the coat rack and flipping his TV off and on?
I just had a bad feeling the Knicks would win it like they did. I tried not to look at the last 2.9 secs of the game but like a deer staring at the head lights I couldn't move from the t.v. I will not watch the Clippers game. I will be in SA checking out Metallica. I did buy NBA League Pass again. I hope I get my monies worth in the end. GO ROCKETS!!!
No, I'm the Positive Thoughts Guy. I provide therapy following minor and disastrous Rockets losses by feeding positive, "the-sky-isn't-falling-yet, glass-half-full messages to Rockets listeners everywhere. "The Season Is Still Young!" "Keep the Faith!" "We're Only Going To Get Better!" "At Least We're Not The Bobcats!" (Actually, they've been playing well even through their losses, considering their roster).
I'll be at the Clippers game sitting at the tip-top of Staples Center ... So if this happens to the Rox again don't be surprised to hear about a guy falling all the way to the lower bowl seats.
It seemed like Turnovers cost us the game down the stretch. Same old ****. That damn Francis! Oh, I'm sorry we don't have him to blame anymore. Who are people going to point the finger at now?
Grumpy gets the finger, first, of course. Then... I'm going to nominate Jim Jackson as the new whipping boy. He's completely out-of-sync with the others, jacking clankers, slow as molasses, and a turnover machine. Dump him, stat. He's done. Bad fit with the silky smooth Tmac.
