Watching the cavs tonight, they are a 15 win team without lebron. All they do is stand around and hope he creates something. Mo Williams is pretty good, but the rest of the team is not, especially side show bob and Ben Wallace. LeBron without question should win the MVP. That game 6 against the pistons and game 7 against the celtics are the best since his airness.
I disagree... he doesn't have bad players around him Williams and Wally put up decent numbers on other teams before playing with Lebron and Big Z before Lebron got there. Kobe should be the MVP over Lebron imo because he reads the game a lot better and doesn't need to try and hit 30 every game if the others are playing well... I have watched games where the Cavs are winning but Lebron isn't getting shots off and he starts to look unhappy. The coaching probably has a bit to do with it to. The cavs without Lebron would still be a playoff team in the east but probably only a 40 win team.
Oh and to clarify I meant I disagree with him being MVP... not that hes great and makes the cavs better.
The Cavs would have zero chance of making the playoffs without LeBron. It's delusional to think otherwise. He is the heart, brains, lungs and soul of that team and has been for years. Without him, they would win ~25 games and wouldn't be close enough to sniff the playoffs.
Did you just use The Ghost of Wally Szczerbiak as one of the main reasons the Cavs would be good without LeBron?
Name one of the Lebron's teammates who is the same par with Lamar Odom! And Kobe has another teammate in Gasol who is better than Odom. Look at Kobe's squad, that is why kobe doesnt need to score 30points to win games cause he clearly have better teammates! IMO, this season MVP race will be between Kobe and Lebron as Chris Paul's hornets clearly hit the slump and I think Kobe will win it simply because the lakers will have best overall team records. Regardless, Cavs' 18-4 against West is pretty impressive too!
Two years ago? Didn't the rockets lose like 16 in a row when Francis was out. He's not even in the league now. I think the league is now realizing that this league is too deep for teams to COMPLETELY rely on superstars. The Olympics have opened alot of eyes, including mine.
You do realize they're in the east? This doesn't fly. They're still a playoff team without him. If they were in the west, not so much.
Agreed. There isn't a single player in the league more valuable to their respective team than Chris Paul. If that's the criteria for deciding the MVP, then it's a no-brainer.
You can't be serious? it is the East. So you think the Cavs without Lebron couldn't win more games than a Bucks team without Bogut and Redd? Who's really delusional?
I am pretty sure I didn't say Lebrons supporting cast was as good as the Lakers. If so please quote me where. The Lakers are a far better team and would probably sweep the Cavs if they met in the finals. My point was I think Kobe does a better job of playing team ball when he has to, he picks the right times to take over...where as I feel Lebron needs to control it all. If you disagree look at the Lakers early box scores when Kobe wasn't putting up massive numbers... his team was winning well and he was shooting a decent %.
I haven't seen comments on all those IQ scores ads constantly floating around our monitor screens. Yao has an IQ of 132 Lebron James has 126 Devin Harris's IQ is 119 (just saw this now from one of clutch's ad) I've never clicked on these IQ site ads.. but what do these score supposed to mean? Well, judging from their system, Yao's the greatest! 6 points above MVP king james
First off the saying "it is the east" doesn't matter anymore. The east and west are pretty balanced out now. The west has 6 horrible teams. Actually out of the 7 worst teams in the NBA the west has 6 of them. Like A_3PO said lebron is everything to that team. Would they still have a chance to make the playoffs? Maybe, but barely. Milwaukee might not have Bogut and Redd but they do have Villanueva who has been playing out of his mind, they still have Richard Jefferson and an emerging PG in Sessions. I just don't see Cleveland doing anything without Lebron...you have to realize that his teammates would be nothing without him. Lebron makes everybody around him better, the same way steve nash does. You also mentioned how Lebron needs to "control it all"...well why shouldn't he...he has amazing court vision and sets up his teammates very well....he can take it to the hole at will and shoots a pretty high percentage...I'm sorry but his game is totally polished...I understand why people say Kobe is better than Lebron but to me its not even close. Kobe and Lebron can do everything, the difference is that Lebron does do everything every night, while as kobe is more of a pure scorer that doesn't rebound or get assists every night on a consistent basis the way Lebron does.
For starters saying its the east does matter. I was replying to someone saying they wouldn't do anything without Lebron... I never said they were a better team without him... in fact they would be much worse. I said they would still make the playoffs in the east and thats because besides 3 teams the East is still pathetic. The West may have horrible teams but that doesn't matter when the team which will miss out in the West likely will have as good of a record as the 4th placed East team. Yes they play the scrubs more times than the East but can you honestly tell me the Bucks or Bulls are better teams than the Suns? It's a lovely argument the Kobe v Lebron thing... with the kids being fed by ESPN you get a lot of you sort of player fans but until Lebron wins a championship i'm giving it to Kobe. Lebron is a great player but hes all about the man, the money and is the spoiled baby of the NBA, Media and his whinging coach. Star players who would be considered less won championships with worse support than he has.
I don't know if it is just me, but everytime I watch him play, it seems like he wants to 'show off' too much. It feels like no matter how the game is going, he have to get his stats. It just seems like to LJ is deliberately trying to take over games when it is unneccessary to do so. Like this game vs rockets, the commentators were saying that he was trying to have a big third quarter, don't that really reminded me, as if he is patting up his stats. By the way, love his game and think he is a great player.
