The guy is phenomenal. There's nothing else you can say. And once the Cavs figure out that you can play him at PF or C and create even bigger mismatches, Cleveland could very well own this league. Hell, because you can run the offense through Bron, they could get away with an entire lineup of swingmen. Guys that are interchangeable on defense and can switch on every pick and roll, and with the ability to run and jump and slash on offense. If I was Cleveland, I'd completely follow the Suns model and go after the exact kinds of players that they have targeted (Raja Bell, Tim Thomas, Boris Diaw etc). Surround Lebron with a fistful of those guys and it might be just lights out for the league.
LeBron's commercial where he comes in and the guy is sitting in his Throne. . . . and he asks. . . . Did you take my seat the guy say . . uhmm . .nnoooo.. . That is just Hilarious to me. . . . Rocket River . .taking someone's chair in an office environment. . . is just plain wrong *smile*
Just another thing LBJ does well, commercials. I thought Nike was crazy for signing him to a contract that size before he had even played one NBA game but now I see why. His screen tests must have been off the charts. His are the best set of commercials since the Bo Jackson (Bo knows) commercials.
He could be the best player in the league already at 21 and is blessed with phenom athleticism. If he isn't the best he is close, and his potential is the highest of any young player (with Amare or Wade probably next in upside, maybe not as far behind as Lebron as many people think, but that isn't Lebron's fault). Lebron has a great work ethic and does most his talking through his court play dominance rather than to the media or over the top trash talking BS (e.g., Kobe) on he court. He is not better than MJ (Mr Bland commerical figure who was over the top in trash talking too just more privately than Kobe), but personally I find Lebron more likable. I didn't want to like him, but it is hard not to some. And definetely he deserves loads of respect whether you like him or not.
The thing I like about him the most, is that he loves the game, more than the money and the hype. just think about how much money he gets from nike, I completely forgot, wasn't it $85MM. and when he talks, he's all basketball. I loved what he said about not fearing the pistons. sometimes he gives too many cliches. but a lot of the time he is very honest. as much as i dog mcgrady, I would say that mcgrady probably has the smoother and more fun game to watch when he is healthy and when he gets hot. but watching lebron impose his will is also enjoyable.
LOL I think evey player has about 10 cliches in their bag, it would help if people threw different questions at them once in a while. My ultimate pet peeve is the phrase "the game of basketball", its like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Lebron James is my favorite player to watch in the entire NBA. It's not just the physical skill, it's the way he plays, and conducts himself. He truly makes his teammates better. I mean, we are talking about a team minus it's 2nd best player winning 3 straight games against the most dominant team this year in the NBA. Sure the Cavs have other decent role players, but who really expected this? Lebron dominates a game without having to score, which is what separates him from Kobe and many other swingmen/guards in the NBA. Plus, I happen to like his attitude in interviews. He realizes it means jack to go up 3-2 if they don't close out the series, and that focus from a guy his age is outstanding. Many before him have gotten way ahead of themselves and made guarantees or statements before things actually happened.
I look at him and can't believe how young he is. Baring injury, he will go down as arguably one of the best players to lace'em up.
I love those Nutty Professor-esque commercials where he plays every guy in the whole family. "That's a quadruple-double right there boy". I also think he is the best candidate currently to come scary-close to averaging a triple-double.
those are Kewl too I must admit I do like his commercials Old man LeBron KKOOOLLL SOUL BROTHER LeBron Pop Locking Collar Popping kid LeBron The one where they all dancing is crazy to me Rocket River
Unbelievable that this guy lived up to the hype. He might have been the most hyped phenom in sports history - there was absolutely no chance for him to live up to the expectations and he has. Absolutely amazing. I remember the famous quote from a GM about there being only 5 guys in the league he wouldn't trade for Lebron and I remember scoffing. Now, just 3 years later, I wouldn't trade him for anyone and that is even if you discount future considerations. I really think he's already the best player in the league. It's really hard not to like this guy. He's humble, unselfish, says all the right things, and plays the game the way it was meant to be played. The league is in great hands.
It is not that far fetched of an argument, there are only a certain number of guards who play at that high level: Kobe, T-Mac, Paul Pierce, D-Wade, LeBron, Iverson, etc.
Wade has more of a killer attitude. Also, those "The Lebrons" commercials are possibly the worst Nike commercial series ever. Just saying.
I'm a Heat fan and there's no way that Wade is equal to LeBron. Right now he's a more efficient player, and he's going to be scary when he gets a consistent outside shot, but he's never going to equal LeBron due to being smaller.
