Cheaper, but (in Dallas), way less reliable. Reception at the fringes is very dependent upon where the satellite is in the sky at any given moment. Besides, do you really want to give up Dallas locals in favor of ours?

Well, I'm from Houston, and am just living in Dallas. I go to school up here. Last year sucked for me because it was my first year away from Houston, and the only time I got to see the Rockets was on National TV, or whenever they played the Mavs. I never realized how spoiled I was with HSE, Fox Sports SW, and now Channel 51, getting all of those Rocket games. PLus, I have cable internet, which in turns leaves analog cable open for local stations + some cable stations when you have a splitter hooked up, like I do now.

It will not work. The spot beams coverage does not extend as far as Dallas or at least not North Dallas. I don't know just exactly how far it goes but I know not as far as North Dallas or Denton county

BTW, I just switched to Comcast from DTV. I like Comcast but miss some of the features that I had on DTV plus I've called twice to try to get hooked up for League Pass and both times I managed to get someone that barely knew what a basketball was. Both phone calls lasted about 15 minutes and I still don't have League pass yet. I'm not worried about getting it because I know they will eventually get it right but I never had any problems with DTV at all. It kind of makes me nervous.

Okay, I'm going to do this. And Dada is right about the no-bill credit card thing, because that's my form of payment anyways.

Look, if you live in Bryan College Station, and you have DTV, you CANNOT get ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC or anything local. That is because DTV lied to us and says on their own website that local channels will be available in 2004. It's freakin October 2004 already!!!!

We miss out on the Olympics, College Football, NFL, and most importantly: THE NBA PLAYOFFS!!!!

I was going to be nice and order Leage Pass, when I realized they don't cover the playoffs.

We bought a $50 antenna from Best Buy and the only station we got was a fuzzy local CBS.

So screw DTV. I'm paying you a lot and I want local channels damnit!

You are not screwing anyone, you are a consumer and you should have the right to choose what you want.

    GOOD ON YA MATE !!
