    Layoffs.

I've been there, dude, and it's a terrible feeling.

I can't help. But the best I can tell you is to keep your confidence up, stay positive (which is VERY hard to do), stay active in your job search, and file for unemployment benefits.

    Hope the best for you.

That sux...I've been in that position before and it's no fun...

Our office is closing at the end of the year and we're all looking...We've known for a while, but the reality of it all sux and is starting to set in...we have a great package, but its a tough econonmy...

IMHO, Dec/Jan are the worst time of the year to look so I'll be hanging out a while...just spend time with the kids and be on here a lot more...

our company has been sporadically laying off people ever since they forced the ceo out in the summer. on top of that, when people leave, they do not fill their positions and will not. that has left our department vastly understaffed even though they keep bragging about revenues being up and that we work for a "strong company". we despearately need another person and our manager says she keeps asking and includes it in her budget, but tells us that there's really not shot and even now, if one of us left (there are only two of us in a department that is supposed to service 500 customers), they probably wouldn't rehire. no raise, no bonus for doing the extra work and saving close to 35k in budget this year due to the employees that left, so i'm actively looking for a new job and cannot wait to get one. i've already decided that i will not be giving this company two week's notice when that time comes. i hate what that will do for my co-worker, but i know for a fact she's actively looking. i really wish we could coordinate finding new jobs so we could both leave and leave them up the proverbial feces-laden creek without any means of getting out.

forgot to add that the only brightside is that short of surfing for p*rn, telling a customer to **** off or whipping my member out at work, my job is save. so i have that going for me, which is nice (even though i would rather take unemployment right now than work at this ****hole).

I work for a school district...and THEY are even talking about cutting staff....

I never thought I'd see the day when school districts would be cutting staff. I actually came to this job to escape layoffs from another company that I used to work for. Their job force went from 385 people to 60 in less than 3 weeks.

I'm so sick of turning on the news, and hearing about some company laying off thousands of people.

    It's all just so sad.
