I have to give a demonstration tomorrow that explains 2 of the 3 laws of motion, which is simple enough...but I want to do something creative. I COULD just drop a ball or throw it across the room, but I want a real good grade... any ideas?
I saw this demonstration once about gravity... with a motion twist to it. A scientist had this pole and at the end of it a heavy ball. An average person could not lift the heavy end while gripping the light end. But, (I guess the thing was on ball-bearings or something) when he spun the heavy end very quickly anyone could lift the pole straight up without much effort, using the rotation of the ball... dunno exactly the whole reason, but it was cool.
Learn how to spin a coat hanger around your finger with a penny balanced on the tip of the hook. We got bonus points in my high school physics class for being able to perform this. You have to use a wire coat hanger and stretch it out so that it's shaped like a diamond.
