Actually I should clarify my "yes" answer so I don't confuse you. The idea of this scenario is from a movie/book, but there wasn't flat out a scene of what I'm describing.

He wasn't frozen to death. And how cold/warm the water was isn't really relevant.

Is there anything or anybody else around that is relevant?

Does "burn" refer to being insulted, like Kelso yelling "BURN!!" on That 70's Show? :D

So there's an actual flame that burns him to death?

Was somebody else trying to harm him?

Yes you got me. The main character from that 70's show was swiming around, when that Fez dude came by in his "Ho" yacht along with all the starlets that he has banged. All of Vilmer's womens started ragging on Eric(?) and Ashton Kucher jumped out and said, "Dude, you've been burned to death."

    Okay, not really.

Is this "somebody who was trying to harm him" a person? Was it a sea creature (e.g. jellyfish)?
