With our next game against the L.A. Clippers coming up why don't the Rockets start Dan Langhi for that game? I have some reasons why. 1.The Clip start Darius Miles at the 3 position and with him being 6'9" would be a mismatch when Anderson is gaurding him. With Langhi you have 6'11" SF that can play enough defense to slow someone like Miles down. Reason for slowing Miles down is that Miles is a form of energy for the Clippers who gets his players playing with more intensity when he goes up and gets one of his highlight real dunks. With Dan in there he can become a source of MOTIVATION for our other players by playing hard which he would do because he can prove himself in a game situation finally. 2. Lets get the kid some minutes now so we don't pay later. What I mean by that is if later in the year if we are in the thick of a playoff race and one of our players go down with an injury we wont have to worry about that injury being a liability against the team. So when and if ever he has to come off of the bench we wont have to worry as much as if he keeps his current minutes up. 3. i just wanna see this kid play. Damn, I have been waiting and waiting for Rudy to put him in when we get to garbage time. And if he can get some major minutes in only one or so games this year he will feel more comfortable with his game in the NBA. Then he can average his pitiful minutes per game for the rest of the season. Go Langhi !! ------------------ "I move for no man." --"So be it." I see your point, Daryl. But to me, Langhi is too much of a question mark defensively to replace Shandon. Shan has proven himself time and again that he can guard bigger guys (not Stackhouse, obviously). Not to mention how bad it would look if suddenly Shandon is not starting and Langhi is. It would be hard for Rudy to justify that to his players. ------------------ "Of course, everything looks bad if you remember it!" Homer Simpson
Raven you of course know Rudy is more of a players coach. I believe you either move Shandon to the 2 spot and move Cat back to the bench for one game. Or you could put Shandon on the bench for one night and let Dan prove himself. The only person he has to justify himself to is himself. The players need not question their coaches decision. And we have good enough chemistry that are players would not be torn that one of them is not starting for one game. But I just wanna see Langhi get more minutes. Please Rudy let him play. ------------------ "I move for no man." --"So be it."
This really isn't the best time to tinker with the lineup and screw up an 'automatic W'. ------------------ Who's ya daddy?
Rudy doesn't change his starting line-up easily and I think a starter has to really earn his spot on the bench, like Walt. And to say that he'd do a better job defensively than Anderson on anyone just because he's taller doesn't seem right. However, giving Langhi more minutes would be perfectly acceptable to me. I'd like to see him play too and he's bound to look better against the Clippers than just about any other team in the league. ------------------ RealGM Rockets Draft Obligations Summary Gafford Art Artisan
I think you'll see Langhi in the rotation before the season is over. We just have to wait until after the trade deadline. I have a feeling that Walt will be included in some some kind of trade this year. ------------------
I am the biggest Langhi fan there is, but he will get eaten alive if he started right now. He has skills, and I love his game, but he has absolutely zero confidence out there on the court. ------------------
