I agree with the people that are putting us in the 7th or 8th spot in the playoffs but I ask the question who would u rather play. LA or Portland? ------------------ Who's Banana?
I would rather the Faker$. The Blazers are just too damn deep. Their bench could make the all-star team ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
Actually, I'd rather play the Blazers. They are deep, but we have some nice depth as well, and last year we looked to match-up better with them than the Lakers head to head. ------------------ Looking for next year's Dan Langhi? Gotta go with the Blazers by default... Too much potential to self-destruct... ------------------ "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain -
We all know how to beat the JailBlazers - boo Quitten every time he touches the ball. It seems to throw them off. Key to beating Lakers - of course contain Kobe and play Olajuwon as much as possible, who hopefully would keep Shaq to under 50 points. Key to beating Blazers - Have a roudy crowd when we're playing at home (thats how the Kings beat the Lakers twice!!!) of course with horns, tamborines, moroccas, ect. Fly a plane of rabid fans to Portland to cheer on the Rox in Game 5. We could definitely beat anyone. ------------------ The best is yet to come. Go Rockets!
It all depends on the situation... If Olajuwon is healthy and playing well, then I'd take on the Lakers. Reason being that Hakeem will keep Shaq busy on the other end of the floor, and Shaq will get more tired. Hakeem can come in and give it his all, then we bring in Cato who will hopefully out-run Shaq and also wear him down. La is not as deep as Portland, and if Shaq, who is about 50% of their attack, gets tired, then we can take the game. In any other situation, I'd go up against the Blazers. We played well against them last year... they have changed and gotten better, but so have we. We might not be as deep as them, but if some of our variables(Cato, Langhi, Wizard, etc) pan out, then we're a pretty deep team also. It'll be nice to go up against Pippen again. ------------------ president of the dan langhi fan club.
With a healthy Dream and an improved Cato, I think the Rocks would match up better against the Faker$. This would be especially true at the PF spot where MO & KT would go against Horry and Madsen instead of 'Sheed and Dale Davis (or Kemp). I do agree that the noise/boos seems to distract Quitten. With Cato and Mo on the floor against Sabonis and Wallace, does anyone think it would be effective to have Mo on Arvydas and Cato on 'Sheed? Sabonis tends to stay on the perimeter a bit and since rebounding and shot blocking are not Mo's forte, I just thought I'd get some feedback on the idea. ------------------ GATER
Portland_ cuz we cant stop Shaq! and the heart will get us past Portland cuz well be trying to kill pipps ------------------ "It wasn't a fight. He punched me one time, that's all. That's not a fight. I don't fight at 30,000 feet. I had an education." L8 vs Stack
I just want them to make the playoffs. Not being too greedy here. DaDakota ------------------ All you MO-FO's better stop ripping off my lines !!
Gotta beat em' both at some point, or it doesn't even matter. ------------------ Sometimes I think I'd be better off dead. No, wait, not me...you.
GATER- I think it's pretty safe to say that if Sabonis has 7 inches and 70 pounds on the guy who's guarding him, he's taking him down in the paint. There would be no need to try to draw Taylor away from the basket. ------------------
Since we'll have home court adavantage with our great record, it shouldn't matter who we play. ------------------ Doink!
We'll take em both on. This is how the west was won... You must BELIEVE. ------------------ Dreams, are what teams are made of.
Bring 'em both on!!! We can take the Blazers out in the first round and wear the Lakers out in 7 games in the second round!! Personally, I am not scared of either team. I think the Blazers have too many players that NEED the ball in their hands to be effective. No one on that team is going to be able to get comfortable in the offense. They have 4 starters that need the ball and one whiney ass SF. The same rules apply to LA...to an extent. Shaq and Rider MUST have the ball to get into the flow of the game. Kobe also needs the ball, but can do other things that Shaq and Rider can't. Ho Grant doesn't really need the ball, but he can score and on this team is a 4th option at best. I just can't see a team with 3 starting players that need 20+ shots per game and another that needs 10 shots, dominating. Just one man's opinion. ------------------ I am the founding member of the Butt-Nekkid Party! White House here we come!
If Basketball were more like football, the Blazers would be invinceable. I just think that basketball is too much of an individual game. Shaq and Kobe are each better than anybody the Blazers have. The Lakers are better. The Lakers also have more of a presence in the lane, which wouldn't be pleasant for our driving guards. ------------------ Shandon Anderson rocks. The lottery sucks.
