Houston can offer Cook and a rebound machine Dorsey for Hinrich; probably more appealing tbh

Are the Lakers really that desperate for a PG? Hinrich has two more years after this one at 9&8 mil. for reference, that's more than the Lakers resigned Odom for. The Lakers are going to be bleeding money from tax issues if this trade goes down.

As for Chicago, I'd personally jump on that trade to get rid of that albatross of a contract.

This is from the 2003 draft:

Seamless transition at PG? Jackson won't have to gamble on a new PG to learn the system by the playoffs?

Isnt this guy a perfect replacement for Battier? Can we trade Battier or Ariza along with Cook or someone and get him here. Not sure if the salaries match though. gotta check

I would love to see a guy who can handle the ball and also defend like mad.

He is a good defender but doesn't nearly have the same length that Battier has

I can't imagine Hinrich trying to guard LeBron or Kobe...

Right. but he did a great D job on Pierce last years in that epic series. So I think he is capable. Not seen him play too much though.

Just b/c a source says the Lakers are interested in him, doesnt mean anything. If you look at what they are willing to give up for him, then maybe you will see the bigger picture.

You wonder why you catch so much static from some people on the board. Probably b/c of posts like this^^^.

I don't care about the static so much, the personal insults, yeah, but the static nah....

I give as much as I get....it's all good.

He's way overpaid but the Lakers obviously don't care about that. He's basically a better version of what they already have in Shannon Brown so at this point you need to ask yourself how much an elite defender is worth to you as one guy makes $1.9M and the other makes close to $10M. If you can afford to absorb that nasty contract -- more power to ya.

He's got a "length" defender already in Ariza, though.

It makes sense for both sides. The Lakers probably need to give up a bit more, say a 1st rounder and cash, for Chicago to go for the deal.

The Lakers really need to replace Fisher, Brown and Farmer are not up for big minutes yet, so Hinrich is a great answer for them. The Bulls want to have capspace this summer, and Hinrich's contract is too expensive for them since they already have Rose and Hinrich is a backup.

I came in thinking it would be Miller/Hinirich for Bynum.

For morrison and vujabitch would be highway robbery.

But it wouldn't be unprecedented for the Lakers to pull off a trade like that.

I'm sure on the Bulls behalf it'd be more of a cost cutting move than a talent pilling move. Besides you know they're pretty much putting all their chips into getting Wade alongside Rose without giving up too much bang.

If that would happen there would really be no need or room for Hinrich in the rotation anyway.

Dorsey's NBA annual rebounds can be counted on both hands. D-League doesnt count for much

Hinrich is grossly overpaid. Even being so, the Bulls still chose to draft someone to replace him (when they could have taken Beasley...at the time, even more of a no-brainer).

If the Bulls could get expiring contracts with players that actually have some talent, I'm sure they'd do it...but it's doubtful.

The proposed trade isn't a fleecing by anyone. The Lakers probably get better on the court, but not enormously so, and they continue to be in payroll hell.

I'm all for payroll hell, and wish Les would go that direction, if it means championships, though.
