Lake Conroe Sigh.... My dad wants us to all go out to Lake Conroe for a day or 2. I'm in charge of "research." Can anybody tell me about boat rentals and what I should look out for. Any other info is appreciated. Damn, I somehow left the e off of lake. Now I know this trip will suck. It's all downhill from here.
I grew up in Conroe and spent many an hour on that lake fishing and boating--don't be so negative, you can have a good time unless sun and water aren't your thing. As far as boat rentals, I have never rented them before--always had buddies with a boat. be sure and hit Pappa's on the lake...the scenery is very nice...
I can relate to that! One warning...if you take a boat out for skiing, be very mindful of fishermen. Guys fishing and jet skiers/water skiers do NOT get along. Those who have ventured too close to fishermen, especially out by the dam, have had fish hooks flung in their direction. Basically, be polite and courteous of everyone who is using the lake. Oh, and don't let anyone on the boat who is driving drink. The game warden will haul you off to jail for that one.

I have enjoyed great days on the brownish water of Conroe. Avoid "Mustards" - their salsa is Old El Paso.
