Am I the only one who will always think of this guy as the punk ass college student on the Dream Team's bench?
Whenever I think of Laettner, there are three things that stick out in my mind: 1. Game winning shot against Kentucky during their second title run. I saw it live and it was an absolutely amazing moment. 2. CL steps on this guy's chest who's lying on the ground. 3. CL walking on his hands during the Arsenio Hall Show. Supposedly he's in the Guiness book of world records as the tallest person to ever walk on his hands.
I remember when Uconn played Duke in the NCAA tournament and Laettner and Rod Sellers both ended up on the ground. Sellers dribbled Laettner's head against the floor and Laettner didn't do anything. Unfortunately for Sellers the CBS camera people filmed the whole incident. Gave me a whole new respect for Sellers though.
Moot point. Sounds like Miami will sign him in the next few days. Maybe I can now start a Mo-T for Stromile Swift thread.
never thought Shaq and Laettner would be on the same team. I think he will do well down there though.
Actually, most of the players did better after they left the Warriors. I guess it's the organization problem I used to like Laettner as a player, thought he was a good back up for 20 min at 4, 10 min at 5. I'm not sure if he is still capable of that today. How old is he?
about a year older than Shaq right? I guess the same age as JJ since all three were top 4 picks in the 92 draft
Nobody on the Rockets, thankfully, is thinking about signing Laettner. Mainly because, according to David Aldridge, he smells really weird, like a mix between shoe leather and dry seaweed.
