I have a feeling that our Number 8 pick may be getting more valuable than it was. Either we will get a better Player than Carney or we may get better value for trading.

If you look at the measurements that were made official- Lamarcus did not do well when compared to other big men in the strength department. Shelden Towered over everyone and Tyrus proved that he was athletic. Now that Tyrus cancelled his workout with Portland and he previously bragged about Chicago having promised him the No 2 slot- it puts Lamarcus's in an Uncertain situation ( it does not affect others as much as it does Lamarcus)

None of the others - Roy, Bargnani, Foye have lost steam- there are several possibilities- and it only means good news for us- but here is what I think ( my opinion)

    Toronto picks Bargnani

    Thomas to Chicago

Morrison to Bob Cats ( with Michael on board will they go for a big man again- remember Kwame Brown?)

    Atlanta Picks Gay

    Minnesota picks Roy

    Boston Picks Foye or LaMarcus

Houston Gets a Chance at LaMarcus or Foye

I still think we should trade down- to convert our pick to 2 First Round Picks- I think Shelden would be my choice- but Cedric Simmons is fine. With the other I will go with a Shooter- who can defend.

Even if there are trades in the top 6- I dont think the player picked will not change much.

Sweet! We've got the #7 pick now? Did Portland forfeit their pick? :)

I did miss that- thanks for pointing that out. Portland still would not look at PF spot as their first need.

Foy does nothing for me. Aldridge would be a decent pick up that might turn into something something special.

i doubth atlanta would pass up on him, considering that they have no pf if harrington leaves.

The word is that Atl has gauranteed Sheldon Williams that they would draft him. Only time will tell.

I wouldn't say that is entirely correct. Word is that they want to move Randolph and picking a player like Aldridge or Thomas would allow them to do just that.

The Blazers have a ton of holes, especially if they want to trade their troubled players. They should go with the BPA which would be Aldridge in this case.

but they are looking to trade randolph, if they can find a deal for him they will be looking for a power forward.

Rudy Gay will be gone by #8, but one team I GUARANTEE will not select him is Atlanta. They have too many swingmen right now and need a PG and a C. The only exception is they take him is to trade him. LA will not slip to #8 in this draft because he has the tools to be very good.

    My current mock has:

    1. TORONTO: A. Bargnani
    2. CHICAGO: A. Morrison
    3. CHARLOTTE: R. Gay
    4. PORTLAND: B. Roy
    5. ATLANTA: L. Aldridge

As uncertain as things appear to be, I expect a lot of movment on draft day, though.

The funny thing about this draft is that any of the big players plus Morrison could go #1. There is just no clear cut number one and who ever gets picked at number one could screw everyones mock draft up.

    My top 5 are

    Aldridge
Thomas - yes I bought into the draft day promise rumor that he supposedly recieved from Chi
    Gay
    Morrison
Sheldon - another rumor that I have bought into.

I think Aldridge is a better fit at center than Bargnani and will be passed over at the top spot. But he could still be the best player in the draft or a total bust. who knows.

Yeah, but if Aldridge was still there for the taking, would they still take Williams? Same position, better player.

Maybe ATL does not see Aldridge as the better player. More upside maybe but I think Sheldon is a safer pick.

Aldridge definitely has more upside and could be a super star but he could also turn into a bust.

Sheldon may never be a super star but he will almost definitely average 10 boards, 2 blocks and 10 points a game for the next 10 years.

Maybe ATL just prefers the safer pick.

I don't think LA will slide past Portland. LA can play 4 & 5. Portland needs a 5 now & if they get rid of Randolph, they'll need a 4 also.
