I would try to move Howard instead of Taylor because Howard's contract is longer much like Thomas'. If we got Thomas for Taylor then Howard AND Thomas would be on the books through 07/08. I dont think that would be good.
I was not "bashing" the Rocket's front office - I was talking about Zeke in NY and Toronto I was just "noting" that our coach was a Knick and that the Knick's GM used to be invovled with the Raptors I am curious about what you thought I was talking about ?!?!
Well JVG, aint going nowhere anytime soon, hence were stock with his system. so atleast lets make the best of it buy bringing pieces that wll help The Rockets to Maximiazes our chances Off Success?. Kurt Thomas does exactly That! Lets Face it, Kurts best Years were Under JVG!.
If our PF aren't so pathetic, I'd be against any Kurt Thomas trades. The guy just got a huge extension, while clearly in the decline phase of his career. He's going to be another Mo Taylor in terms of being a salary albatross in 2 years. But considering our horrible options at this position, Thomas doesn't look too bad.
i like this better ... just foolin around on realgm.com, but it kinda makes sense..... (scroll down and check the explanation) Houston trades: PF Maurice Taylor PF Clarence Weatherspoon PF Juwan Howard C Dikembe Mutombo PG Tyronn Lue Houston receives: SG Jalen Rose PF Donyell Marshall C Loren Woods SG Wesley Person SF Dorell Wright PG Keyon Dooling Toronto trades: SG Jalen Rose SF Vince Carter PF Donyell Marshall C Loren Woods Toronto receives: PF Maurice Taylor C Dikembe Mutombo SG Eddie Jones C Kurt Thomas Miami trades: SG Eddie Jones SG Wesley Person SF Dorell Wright PG Keyon Dooling Miami receives: PG Tyronn Lue SG Allan Houston New York trades: SG Allan Houston C Kurt Thomas New York receives: PF Clarence Weatherspoon PF Juwan Howard SF Vince Carter We can throw in a draft pick or possibly get eddie jones instead of toronto giving up rose, but the basic idea of the trade is kindof appealing... New york has been feenin for VC for a while and they will take on almost any contract to get what they want (Jamal crawford, Starbury). Obviously, toronto kinda gets shafted, but they want to pull the plug on a bad situation, plus they get major capspace when MO-T and eddie jones contract are up the same year. Miami gets a deadeye shooter to compliment shaq and when H20's contract runs out the same year as shaq's they can go get a major piece b/c D-Wade will still be under his rookie contract. And we of course dump a load of garbage and get a ton of young talent (something we have none of) in return while keeping our options open for other deals (i.e. nene)
Probably the same thing I thought you were talking about..... ...two teams "just as screwed up cap wise as the Rockets". The Rockets aren't "screwed up cap wise"...It's impossible to draw a logical conclusion from a false premise.
