That was a crazy 3 by Kobe. I am not sure if he traveled when he got the ball, but that was still an amazing bank shot. He was falling to his left with Wade right on him and he drained the game winner. Fisher's 3 made it a game again.

P.S. I was laughing at Artest chucking 3's every time Kobe passed him the ball. ESPN showed Artest taking heat from Kobe on the bench.

artest tried to show off today too much (i'm guessing it was v. a superstar and on national TV). the lakers won't win with this artest. however, this was one of the rare games where artest tried to be the artest we know. he has played very under control for most of the year.

It was looking good for the Heat till Kobe made the bank 3 ftw.

At least he recognized it was a luck shot. Ad it to the Amazing Endings show.

Great shot by Kobe. I actually thought Wade was winning the battle in the last 5 minutes of the game, but at the end Fisher hits the big 3 to keep them close, Wade misses a free throw, and then Kobe hits an amazing shot.

Kobe's shot-making ability under pressure is unsurpassed.

while wade got lucky on that one pass he threw away that bounced right back to him, he was definitely getting the better of it late in the game. he defended kobe really well and forced him into several bad jumpers (including that airball with 24 seconds left) while wade was getting layups for himself and the big men (and a 3 for Q). this was like that national tv game a week or so ago where wade shot like complete crap for the whole game and then turned it on in the 4th and made a bunch of shots (and got a bunch of calls to help) and somehow got a victory.

he followed that script today (he always seems to follow the shoot like crap script this season) but he missed a rare clutch ft and fisher and kobe made huge 3's to pull it out, although wade played really good D again and forced kobe into a bad shot even though he made it (he really is one of the best "tough shot" makers ever, maybe the best).

wade used the pick and roll all game. kobe shut him down whenever he had to guard him 1-on-1 also. the play you brought up where wade got lucky to get the ball back (kobe forced him to do that).

on the other end, wade played kobe superbly also, including the last heave shot. he basically shut down kobe from the 5 minute mark till the end.

great competition from 2 of the best 5 players in the league. that's all you can ask for.

yeah i know. admittedly i didn't watch much except the last 6 or so minutes so i don't know how much of wade's bad shooting night can be attributed to kobe's defense (everyone makes wade shoot poorly these days) but just in the last 5 minutes, wade was generating good looks all over the place and kobe was forcing it. but their aren't any style points in the standings so a W is a W.

pick and roll brother. wade is the 2nd best player (who is a super scorer) at using the pick and roll (1st is obviously lebron james). we used to have someone who can do that repeatedly :p

Thats what ticks me off most about T-Mac. No one can question that his talent was just as good, if not better, than Kobe's! But the combination of a lack of that desire/killer instinct and healthy ruined it for him. And they are pretty much related b/c they both demonstrate that he is psychologically weak! The excuses about lack of a superstar (i.e. Shaq) and the back-and-forth about his knee feeling better than it ever has and then next day, he is in too much pain to walk, all b/c of a weak mind!

    Uh, c'mon now. That's a bit overboard.
As big a T-Mac fan as I've been over the years going back to Toronto and even Mt.Zion(the 1 year I saw him play there), I think he's barely on DWades level talent wise.

i think you forgot to see him in his prime. for a 2 yr stretch, the GM surveys said he was the most talented player in the league, and he was. his skill level was on the par of kobe. he had everything in an offensive arsenal (which wade obviously doesn't have) that you would want with a basketball player.

but talent doesn't always translate into game greatness. tracy's injuries derailed his career.

Have to agree. The difference is Kobe wants to win at all costs and works like crazy to achieve this. While Kobe is a good athlete he isn't as physically gifted as Lebron or Mac in his prime when they are fit. While earlier on Kobe might of been about the stats, even the haters have to admit now days no one works harder than Kobe to win the game, I mean very few superstars are willing to work to shut down the best player on D as well as be the go to guy on O.
