Good for him. He's still not getting a ring this year.

I don't know how good for him all this work will be come April and May though. The only guy in the NBA that I know that is forced to carry his team that much is Iverson, and he's just a freak of nature (though he's never gotten to the promised land).

I have to admit that my hatred for Kobe and the Lakers has discipated. Now that I have teams like Dallas and Miami (though I admire D.Wade) to hate, I just don't have much more room. ;)

If Kobe doesn't win the scoring title and MVP (barring injury), then i'll change my signature to say "I know nothing about NBA basketball"

I hate Kobe, but he has been playing the best basketball in the NBA by far this season. If he keeps this up and the Lakes are a top 3 playoff team (all they have to do is beat out PHO) then Kobe will be MVP.

Honestly I can't believe anyone would pick shaq over kobe. Miami might be better now but kobe is a lot younger and seems way more dedicated to his craft. I always thought Kobe was better than TMAC not cause of his physical make up but his mental make up. I mean this guy has that killer instinct.

Here's a vid that shows how sick his last game against the Hawks was.

Phil Jackson is the perfect coach for this dude, a thinking man's coach, he forces Kobe (along with the rest of his teammates) to use his head and think about the game, instead of feeling his way through a game like he did all last season.

He will have a season like AI's last season, best player in the NBA, not the MVP because his team isn't going to win enough.

Yes, I was thinking how well he's playing while watching one of their games the other day....and regretting even thinking that, because he's such an unlikeable dude. But you can't argue his talent. At all.

I don't see them going anywhere. If they make the playoffs, they won't advance, unless they yield in their trade talks and acquire a better center than the one they have now (Chris Mihm and that rookie, I believe?)

No. T-Mac actually has the superior mental make up, his braintype is the same one as Jordan's, last season Kobe was playing just like his braintype would naturally play, this season and in past seasons with Phil Jackson forcing him to think about the game he reaches a completely different level. T-Mac naturally thinks his way through a game, if Phil Jackson coaches him he would probably think his coaching is making T-Mac a smarter player, he would help of course like he helped ISTPs Jordan and Shaq, but it wouldn't be the deciding factor like it is with Kobe.

Kobe Bryant's and Scottie Pippen's (both ISFPs) development are Phil Jackson's greatest player accomplishments IMO, with Phil those two quarterbacked a complicated offense, and defense, they broke their natural feeling ways and were great thinkers. ISFPs like Kobe are hardly ever true clutch players, because they tend to tense up when the pressure mounts, but with Phil Jackson's coaching he doesn't seem to FEEL the pressure. Jackson's Zen philosiphies also help with a player like Kobe, naturally ISFPs will forever dwell on mistakes and think too much of the negative posibilities that a missed shot, turnover, missed assignment might bring, Zen if I'm not mistaken teaches to forget mistakes completely.

ISFP clutch time miscues... Tim Duncan missing free throws. Dwayne Wade at times missing shots and free throws down the stretch. Everytime I watch a Celtic's game Paul Pierce is missing shots and free throws down the stretch while Ricky Davis, ESTP, shows that he's their best clutch player. I've looked back at Clyde's career with the Trailblazers and found that most complaints from fans concerned the Blazers always throwing games away down the stretch.

EDIT: For the record, I think T-Mac's the second best player in the game behind Tim Duncan, and I don't think braintypes are the be all end all in player ratings, see ISFP Duncan in front of ISTP T-Mac. I also don't think braintypes make any player other ISTPs include Shawn Kemp, Derrick Coleman, Stephon Marbury, the lazy Shaquille O'neal, the Wizard Michael Jordan, T-Mac on the Magic, they can have their problems.

You are reading way too much into braintype. Go watch Gattaca.

It's funny how Kobe hated Phil and the triangle despite winning all those rings, and was completely indifferent when Jackson was let go 2 years ago. Now he finally seems to appreciate how much Phil's coaching elevates his game.

    True.

Edit: Looked up Gattaca, never thought of it that way, kinda sucks if it's ever proven true and used like that. I'll rent it sometime.
