This is a questions for those who watch the games on TV51-KNWS especially those with Time Warner..

I have noticed that the picture quality on this channel is very very poor (at all times). It looks dark, out of focus, no contrast....
It looks the same on all 6 of my tv's.
Ok, so I thought maybe it a weak signal from TW...but its the same quality at my relatives house and my friends house.
    Has anyone else notice this.
How do you get them to amplify the signal?

I had the same problem before, but I just simply called TW and the tech guy replace my cable and the splitter that run into my Road Runner and since then I'm a happy camper.

Some nights, I can't even get 51. But lately it's been a little better. I think they might have done something because they were getting a lot of complaints from Rocket fans.

Tonight, I kept losing the picture for 2 or 3 seconds at a time. I think that might have been the satellite though. Did this happen to anyone else tonight?

Where do you live? There were some pretty bad storms here in League City from 4pm onward. I'd wager your area got hit with all the atmospheric disturbance too.

51 is usually pretty good for me, of course, I get it via antenna.

it wasnt just KNWS...the guys in chat with NBALP were getting the same disruptions, and I know they werent watching the KNWS signal.

for all that are having problems with the signal..
I used to have problems with static and bad reception till I replaced some of the splitters and cables and made sure the connections were all tight..
You would be surprised at the difference.

I dont know. Maybe I should call TW but I am not sure because like I said my friends have the same issue and my relatives have TW Digital with same issue (I have analog cable).

I ll try to contact knws first and see whats up. http://www.knws51.com/

Its funny though. When I watch the games on my little portable tv with an air antenna the picture seems better than on cable

Works fine for me, except for today. It kept going black and all you could hear was the announcing. It happened for a couple of minutes and was fine the rest.

    Another comment about KNWS
Has anyone notice how many technical difficulties they have?
Every game this season they have problems with the little score bar they put at the bottom of the screen ... like sometimes the time on it just stops, incorrect score, giving points to a wrong team, 24 sec. clock is stuck, etc.....

Yeah, I noticed that too. Can't wait for the move to their own station next season.

I have the same problem with poor reception, but for some reason, when I run the signal through my VCR the picture looks fine.

Probably some filter or something in there I don't know about.

Either that, or a magic-make-TV-clearer gnome.

Do you know how their own station will operate...will you need cable, will you need to pay extra to watch the games if you are in houston? I am just curious, because if you have to pay extra to watch all the games I rather stick with KNWS and their crappy quality and problems...

My reception on my DISH isn't all that great either. I lost the picture on the last game for a few seconds, although the audio was fine.

I remember when KNWS Channel 51 was an ALL day Houston news channel. Anyone know why they stopped doing that? I can't seem to remember.

It is usually horrible, with all these lines, and NBC lighty playing with KNWS in the same picture. But last night it was crystal clear, I cant explain it.

The way that Sixers game was played last night, it's probably best that we DIDN'T see it...

Was B&C on LP? normally I hear complaints from people here about the opposing teams announcers being the ones on LP.

Im not sure how it works with away games..I would assume that the home team would be responsible for providing the feed for LP...but Im just guessing at this point.
