I thought 40YOV was hilarious and knocked up was pretty funny too (albeit not as good as 40YOV). I'm planning on seeing Superbad this weekend and I'm sure I'll like it considering which of my friends has recommended it.

I have to agree with the Hot Fuzz/Shaun of the Dead comment though. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are absolutely a brilliant combination.

Man, i thought I was the only one.

It takes me a couple of times to watch these just so I can a)understand what they are saying and b) to catch everything, but both movies are great.

Quite whining, just be thankful you didn't witness Evan Almighty in theaters.

I didn't really like Knocked Up either. I thought it was totally overrated. While it did have some really funny scenes, I still think that it was nowhere near as funny as everyone made it out to be. Perhaps it was all of the hype

FYI I LOVE 40yoV and one of my fantasy football teams is named McLovin

I certainly have a different taste for movies than most of guys do. Both movies were hyped and overrated like crazy in this BBS. But I think neither are that great. They are just so so.

No kidding. I thought both flicks were hilarious, and I saw both for the first time in a nice movie theatre. Nothing like going to the movies and eating Milk Duds I snuck in, along with the coke I also snuck in. It's a family tradition. I still remember my Dad having my Mom make a bunch of popcorn at home just before we drove downtown to one of the art deco movie palaces they've since turned into rubble. She had a really big purse she used just for that purpose. And after the movies? Chili dogs at the original James Coney Island. Good times!

for those that like the brit comedy, even tho their not really brit, does anybody catch "Flight of the Concords" on HBO? My cousin told me about it, didn't like it at first, but gotten into it, pretty hilarious stuff.

The first half of the movie was funny. The 2nd half was wrapping it all up as a "good/happy" story.

    1st Half = funny

    2nd Half= semi boring.
