Gay and JJ are gone. Bosh, Wade, and Lebron are not even taking them seriously the freaking Nets just b!tchslapped them with that mural at the Garden.

Who will they end up Lee and Boozer? Maybe Richard Jefferson?

Those picks are looking better and better every day.

Knicks supposedly feel like Amare is theirs if they choose to sign him.

I see absolutely no one else offering him the max and Amar''''e isn't the type who seems driven by the desire to win. Could happen.

    pg: Douglas/Will Bynum
    sg: Chandler/Mike Miller
    sf: Gallinari
    pf: Boozer/Warrick
    c: Lee/Frye

Say hello to your 2010 New York Knicks.

This is also best case scenario.

I could easily see the big 3 ending up in Chi, Cle, NJ, or Mia in some combo and then Amare to us.

If we somehow land Bosh I think Amare goes to Mia.

I was thinking the same thing, but his complete lack of desire to win also means it won't affect our picks that much. I'm not afraid of a team led by Amar'e.

Maybe for the maximum is a S&T. Even then I am not so sure. A team like Houston or Detroit could get him is a S&T.

If the Knicks add Amare and another middling free agent, they wont win 30 games next year.

Like others have said, I really see Amare going there, and it would be their last option.

    Jefferson eyes Knicks, Nets

Richard Jefferson doesn’t have a deal with the San Antonio Spurs and would prefer to return to the New York area to play for the Knicks or Nets, league sources told Y! Sports.

Jefferson is seeking a multiyear contract that averages in the range of $8 million-$10 million, sources said. He opted out of the $15 million final season of his contract with the Spurs on Tuesday.

Jefferson has built a good relationship with Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, but doesn’t think the team’s system best fits his skills.

The Spurs could still try to sign Jefferson to a contract that lowers their luxury-tax hit, depending on what other options they find in free agency.

    – Adrian Wojnarowski, 4:20 p.m. ET, July 1

This makes a lot of sense, well for the Knicks anyway. Sign a 30 year old Jefferson to a 5 year 50 million dollar deal, watch it happen.

I wouldnt want to be a knicks fan right now that for sure. Just weeks ago their hopes were of landing Lebron and bosh or maybe stoudamire or maybe boozer. They hoped if not two superstars, atleast they'd get Lebron, or if not atleast they'd get Bosh and if not even that, they'd atleast get JJ and stoudamire... right??? At the moment it looks like plan A, B, C, and D are all out the window for the Knicks. Their chances at Lebron & Bosh is seemingly slim to none, even JJ appears gone and now stoudamire looks shakey. Add to that the terrible theft of their 1st rounders by Morey, I wouldnt want to be a knicks fan right now.

With all that said, I'm hesitant to declare them screwed just yet, stranger things have happened in Free Agency. But even if they dont get Lebron, Bosh, stoudamire, JJ, its just very hard for me to believe the knicks will be worst next season than they were this past.

My prediction is that IF the knicks miss out on Lebron, Bosh etal, they'll will end up signing boozer or amare and RJefferson and finish finish 5-10 games better than they did last year, so 32-38 wins about. Once again missing the playoffs and treating their fans to more misery. If only i loathed the knicks as i do the Yankess... sigh.

We are are going to find out finally that despite what some broadcasters, writers, and Stern himself say, NYC is not the center of the basketball universe. While the NY Daily News put out their polls and the all the fans claimed easy FA, the rest of the world went on an took care of business.

The truth, the Knicks are a mediocre franchise getting worse by the decade.
Every step that props up the Rockets draft picks makes it all the better.

What would really be funny is if someone swoops in and signs Lee while NY is busy batting their eyelashes at Bosh and Amare.

    Lee sets up visits

New York Knicks free agent forward David Lee is scheduled to meet with the Bulls, Heat and Timberwolves over the next three days, a league source said. If the Nets don’t sign Chris Bosh(notes), they could target Lee.

Even if they don't land the big names this year, they don't have to spend all the cap space.

They could use it the next couple years.
