Agreed on declawing. Don't do it. On litter, we have cats that do all kinds of different things. Some wait. Some will go no matter what the box is like. Some will pee on the wall in the living room for no apparent reason. We take the litter and put it in a plastic grocery sack and throw it in the trash. I know a few people who had trouble with the flushable stuff but you'd have to have quite a few cats like we do to run into that problem. To get cat pee clumps out, the best way is to use a scraper to loosen it and then scoop. That works like a charm.
Good to hear. I know it's easy for me to say, cuz it's not my couch and I couldn't give the thing away anyway , but I can't imagine my cats doing too much damage. A scratching post will help also. Good luck. BTW, let me know if your cat hides under the fridge. I can tell you exactly what to do.
For those that don't have the electronic ones, get one. 88 bucks at Target, and I would have payed twice that for it. It's amazing !!!!! Dreamer, you should get one even though they're small. CAts fit just fine in there. My cats seem happier now because they don't have to stand in their own excrement to poop.
