Hmmm.....if Sumlin left the Coogs, I bet a lot of people wouldn't mind having Holgorsen step in.

Not sure that would be a step up for Holgorsen. I'm hearing LSU OC for him.

Miami for the check or exposure, Minnesota for the peace of mind. But go, either way, just go. Unless U of H doubles the highest offer and promises to name something after you 10 years from now.

Sumlin gets mentioned as leaving every year.

If he goes, I want Leach.

Holgerson would be a nice consolation prize, though.

Still going to have a terrible defense again either way.

I can sort of see Minneosta for Sumlin but what has he done to deserve a job at Miami? Miami needs to hit a homerun they can do alot better.

Holgremson is an awsome OC I think he should go to a big time program as the OC do that for another year or so and he should be able to get a big time job as a HC in another year or so...

getting Leach would be huge I'd fire sumlin to get him if you have a chance.

I think Leach can do better though but maybe not he hasnt been rumored a whole lot..

Kinda get tired of seeing coaches leave their school during their contract. It's why it was a breath of fresh air last year that Sumlin decided to stay at UH, despite possible offers elsewhere.

Sumlin over his last 14 games coached has a terrible record. I think he is like 5-9. Sure he lost his two first QBs but losing to teams like Rice is just bad. I like Sumlin but if he leaves I don't care. Mike Haywood would be my first choice. He was a candidate for the job back in 2007. He just led Miami (Ohio) to a MAC title yesterday. He is a Houston native who coached at schools like LSU, Texas, and Notre Dame. I don’t understand the love fest for Sumlin. Between the embarrassing performance last year in the bowl game and this season, I have questions about his coaching. Todd Graham is just a average coach without Gus Malzahn. I am wondering if Sumlin is the same without Dana Holgorsen.

Would be shocked if Sumlin comes back. I think with Keenum likely gone Sumlin will jump to a team like Miami if he gets a chance. He was hoping for a TCU/Boise type season this yr with Keenum but when he went down vs UCLA that dream was buried

Leach has been an announcer for CBS College Sports this past year and he's called 3-4 of our games.

He seems very complimentary of the program and thinks that UH could do some serious damage in the future.

Mike Leach is radioactive right now. I think he's gone on the record as saying there hasn't been a single school contact him about an opening.

Anybody think Kingsburry can step in as HC or is it too early?

No. I think he has the skills and personality to be a head coach one day, but that day is not today.

I'm actually of the belief that Sumlin will be back. I'm not sure Sumlin would want to go to Minnesota and I thought I read something last week that he wasn't all that interested in that job.

Miami will largely have the pick of the litter. As much as I like how Sumlin has improved the talent across the board at UH and started to change the apathetic culture, I think Miami has their sights set a little higher.

Minnesota has decided to hire Northern Illinois head coach Jerry Kill, so Sumlin won't be going there.

I seriously doubt Sumlin is a serious candidate for Miami.
