The Wolves GM when asked about acquiring Spreewell said that Van Gundy was trying hard to get Spreewell back in houston. Just a confimation of what many previously thought. This was an interview on SportsCenter.
Interesting. Thanks for the post. At least now we know the Rockets are trying to make something happen.
Who is Kevin Mccale?? Surely you didn't mispell the last name of one of the greatest PFs in NBA history.
It would have to be a 3-way. Sprewell is sick of playing the 3, and he's no good at it anyway. Mobley would only be backup, and the Knicks want more.
I wouldn't trade Mobley for Sprewell straight up. His game relies too much on athleticism, and his best days are surely behind him. I'm glad this one didn't go through.
I'd take Sprewell if it nets us Kurt Thomas and Othella my Fella for the power forward spots. Funny to think that the massive-ass four-team trade (NY-Minnesota-Atlanta-uh, Philadelphia) might have been messed up by our beloved Jeff Van Gundy and CD...?
I'd rather have Rice at the three... If we can get Spree it will be at the expense of Mobley, Griffin and salary. Anyone know?
Yes, apparently you missed the first post in this thread. They were speaking to Kevin McHale about acquiring him.
Nobody was speculating, Kevin McHale HIMSELF said the Rockets tried to get him, unless you think McHale was also speculating.
Interesting article. I was wondering how the T Wolves could get Cassel, Sprewell and Olowakandi without giving up much. Turns out they are willing to shell out $$$ to do so. McHale says why not buy free agents when they are cheap because other teams (like the Rockets apparentlly) don't want to have the luxury tax. Are the Rockets going to become one of the have not teams while Les makes more and more profit? Makes it tough for the fans who like to have a winning team. Too bad we don't have an owner like Sacrmento, Dallas, Portland, Minnesota and perhaps other teams. Trying to maximum profit while just cashing in on a publicly funded new arena doesn't look like much graititude.
