I think this will help the Rockets in a very big way, and seems not far in the realm of possibility as well. KG and Mchale have a very strong relationship. KG is considering retirement with not much left in the tank as a player. Houston absolutely lacks a cohesive defensive direction. KG can bring to the table a leadership voice everyone can look up to and listen to. His forte for so long has been quarterbacking defenses from his post in the middle much like the way a middle linebacker points out defensive assignments to the rest of the line. He will bring direction and more importantly, accountability.
Being good at something doesn't necessarily make you a great coach at it. McHale was one of the best sixth man in NBA, but look at the way he utilizes the bench.
Well, there's only one thing that can be said to this thread: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Wcz_kDCBTBk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The head coach has to implement this. This isn't a power ranger megazord where each arm is controlled individually by a ranger.
The departure of Kelvin Sampson doesn't seem to agree with you. It was clear McHale didn't do **** on defense.

I thought rumors were that he was coming back for next season and the $12M left on his contract? I know it's bleacher report (which sucks) but I bet there are plenty of other articles about this as well... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...o-return-to-brooklyn-nets-for-one-more-season
