I wouldn't mind taking on Carter if we could find a third team to ship him to. I bet we could probably snatch Frederic Weis away from the Knicks w/ a package of Carter and picks. I think the Knicks would do it in a NY minute to bolster their undermanned SG/SF positions. ------------------
guys...i said AT WORST you have a nice 3 guard lineup. i know you got mobley but you need carter in this deal to make it work. thers just no other way. have to absorb that 3 mill in contract too. sorry. ------------------ the nuggets suck...i know, i know!
If you factor in that MoTay never goes inside, we already have our 3 guard lineup. ------------------
Can anyone tell me what kind of motor Keon Clark has? He sounds kind of like a Theo Ratliff clone. Does he hustle all the time or does he have moments of Cato type effort? ------------------
Hey Crash...I've seen Keon play quite a bit in person (my biz partner lives in Toronto and he takes me w/ his season tix). I would be VERY surprised if Toronto parts with him - he is the real deal. He is nothing like Cato w/ regard to attitude or offense. He is extremely active, can stick the jumper within 15ft, has decent handles and can get by his man to the rim, and he is a surprisingly effective rebounder despite his thin frame. He would start right away on the Rox, even over Dream IMHO. ------------------
If Keon really is an active guy with an agresive attitude then it might be worth getting him just so Cato has to practice against him every day. Maybe he would be good for Cato. ------------------
Like I said, I would be VERY surprised if Toronto parts w/ Keon. Grunwald is no fool and he knows he has probably one of the top 5 centers in the East making a couple mill/yr. Keon reminds me a lot of Bo Outlaw, but w/ much better offense. ------------------
pippendagimp, I don't know, the Raps have a glut of PFs, and have committed some major $ to Davis as well Williams. They drafted Bradley, just obtained Skinner, and still have Stewart and N'Diaye (sp?) on the payroll. If they want Dream bad enough, I could see the Rocks coming out with Clark, granted they are interested in him, without a lot of trouble. But hopefully it won't come down to that, and Dream stays in Houston. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Live (edited July 21, 2001).]
Guys, at the risk of getting flamed here, you're dreaming. Think about it. Toronto already traded one old geezer to get Keon Clark. Why would they trade Clark for another old geezer? Toronto is VERY happy with Clark, and they won't deal him for Hakeem. At least not in my opinion. But since you guys are asking, here's all the info I have on Clark. He's incredibly talented, but lazy. You can debate it all you want, but I've seen it, the simple fact is that he isn't as far along as he should be, and that's because his work ethic wasn't there. I know when he was traded here, Issel (aka Satan) made a comment that Keon wasn't exactly well liked in the locker room. I'm not sure about that. He was definately a loner. I know after games he'd always leave the locker room by himself and (probably) drive off to go hang with other guys, not the team. Did that create a rift in the locker room? Not that I know of, but it's tough to say. Too skinny to be a 4 or 5, too slow to be a 3. That said, he has the potential. And he'll probably play for another few years in Toronto. Raptors management was happy with him last I heard. ------------------ Nuggets4 Re-Sign Sakic, Blake and Roy! Sell the Nuggets!!
