kt goes and scores 16 points tonight, grabs five boards and takes away three steals. this is another of his current string of excellent play since the suspension for fighting. maybe the fighting fired him up. doesnt matter, i think he's better than mo. so why don't we somehow work out a deal with seattle mo for lewis? i mean, seattle needs a PF that's better than vin baker. then they could look for other options to trade baker.

hey...it could happen. denver just traded lafrentz and van exel for howard and hardaway, and chicago traded brand for tyson chandler, so stranger things have happened.

    keep thomas on the rockets.

The stats do not do justice to how big a game KT had. I just cannot see how the Rockets will find it in their best interest to move KT on. Once again he has proven equal to the challenge of a matchup with an all-star.

Are we talking about the same Kenny Thomas who is a cancer to this team? :D

No really, Kenny continues to play great like he has all season long! I see him playing a lot of SF next season, especially if Rice cannot play again, which is a pretty big possibility.

KT was the man tonight! Did you see him block KG? That's nasty! BTW, KG got blocked like 4 times tonight (3 by EG, 1 by KT). WOW!

KT is is still improving, right before our eyes. With impproved shooting he could be a near All Star and should only be traded for a big strong inside player of near star level, given the Rockets overall smallness.

KT is the star of tweeners. Individually he can play excellent defense on all but the tallest 4's and the fastest 3's. He's a natural for a zone with his quickness and court awareness.

With the west getting bigger all the time, Dallas. Minn, Sac, LA, SA, it doesn't hurt to have a big three to help on the boards.

With the superfast 3's, who usually aren't that big, Cuttino or Oscar can help out. .

Kenny Thomas is our most underrated player.

He's exactly the same size as Elton Brand (height and weight). A lot of draft experts felt he had more potential than Elton. I agree with that.

Kenny is big, extremely explosive to the basket, finishes with both hands, can throw up a three every once in a while, and he has the some of the best footwork I have ever seen.

If Rudy committed to giving Kenny more minutes, Kenny could be our go-to guy in the final minutes of the games. He's doing pretty well doing "garbage man" duty like Othello Harrington used to. Imagine what he could do if we actually drew up some plays for him. Look what Kenny did last night against some of the best competition in the league.

The only problem I see with Kenny is that he doesn't play enough defense. The same could be said of most of our players though.

Kt will be a good guy to keep around for the bench-face he wouldn't start on most teams-because he can cause match up problems especially for 2nd stringers. But I would rather have EG developing more and now I think his price will be higher than we will pay.I agree we should go after Rashard he is quiet somewhat and has the intangibles.Drop all these contracts, draft some fresh legs, and get it going.
    cato/yao ming?
    mo/griffin
    lewis/rice
    cat/torres or pick
    steve/mooch
    I must be dreaming again!

Kenny Thomas is an excellent player.

But he's not even 6'7", thus his ceiling is artificially limited.

Doesn't get enough minutes? He's in for most of the game and is used often. He's our third option. I don't see anything wrong with that. I like KT and feel like he's being used right. He also seems to pass more than some give him credit for.

Just a slight correction on your post.

    KT: 6'7" 245 lbs.

    Brand: 6'8" 265 lbs.

One inch & 20 pounds is a lot in the NBA.

But if Kenny's jump shot ever started falling consistently, that could make up for that single inch. A player who can post up or shoot the 18 footer is daaaangerous.

Kenny seems to have improved his ball skills recently. He's becoming more of a complete player. I do wish if he were 3 inches taller though... I honestly think he'd be a near-super star.

KT has a better outside game to Brand. KT is much closer to Brand than the draft suggests.

FR, that may be one of the key reasons why at this point, KT seems to be the odd-man-out between himself, Eddie, and Mo T. The main reason is that KT is easier to trade than Mo T. However, if people could see Eddie and KT playing together as much of the BBS imagines Eddie and Mo T playing together, I think that would change the story considerably.

The Rockets have a good problem with this glut of power forwards. This is a good thing because all three PF's are effective, and each brings something to the table that the other doesn't. Kenny is the epitome of hustle, Mo T has a a great shot, and Eddie Griffin is a future great player and in my opinion just as important as Steve Francis.

However, with all that said Kenny Thomas is considered the odd-man out only because of the contract that Mo Taylor has (and the fact that he is coming off a major injury will make him difficult to move) and Eddie Griffin is considered a major foundation piece in the rebuilding of the Rockets.

I would hate to lose Kenny Thomas, as he is the closest thing to one of my favorite players and former Rockets, Othella Harrington. The guy just hustles and plays hard. The problem is that Kenny is short considering his position (PF). He has shown great strides at SF, but I don't know about that position for him long-term.

Nonetheless, its a good problem to have and maybe theres a way that the Rockets can keep Kenny and have him come off the bench.

I have every confidence in the world that KT and EG will work itself out and they will look as good as Joe Smith and KG looks. EG's game just needs to mature, broaden and be consistent. In the last ten games they have improved their passing among each other and since we know that Rome was not built in a day, we just have to be patient.

I think it is about time we stop saying that KT is too slow to play SF. The man is quick, not just quick for 4's. I have not seen a matchup this year, either at 4 or 3, where he was out-classed. If you want to say Tmac schooled him, fine; however, nothing better could have been done. I do think that Tmac will have his hands full stopping KT also. If we would ever get our motion offense in gear, where he starts to slash and move without the ball, he could add 5pt/game to his average just like that. Leave Odom where he is.
