I don't know if this topic has ever been mentioned here before, but I think Kenny Thomas has a good chance to win the "Most Improved Player" award.

Just look at his stats from last year comparing to this year.

    00-01 7.14PPG 5.64RPG 1.04APG .57SPG .57BPG 44%FG 72%FT
    00-02 14.3PPG 7.09RPG 2.00APG 1.3SPG .71BPG 48%FG 65%FT

Kenny reached career highs in every category and shooting a better percentage from the field. Only thing dropped from last year was his ft%, and I'm sure he can improve that in the future.

So what do you guys think of his chances of winning it?

Lets see, we are headed to the Lottery and Kenny is doing this only because MO and the other boys are not here.

    Kenny doesnt have a chance.

I would love for him to get it, though he may have some strong competition from the rest of the league. Any turn-arounds any better? I really like him. He plays hard, has some great moves to the basket, and hustles on every play. The guy doesn't get enough credit; he has big league skills.

I thought this thread was about Kenny getting in trouble for drinking under 21.

Anyway, I think KT might deserve it, however, I don't know if he's really "improved". What exactly has he improved upon skill-wise?

The biggest reason for such a huge statisical jump is because PT was available from Mo being hurt.

If Mo is healthy, KT's stats will be similar to last year.

Didn't get to see the game last nite but what I noticed was that KT HAD 8 ASSISTS!

Glad to see this 'cause he was becoming a black hole. Fun to watch him improve.

Now for the free throw shooting:rolleyes:

Wally Szcerbijan or however he decides to spell his name is gonna win most improved player. I really like what KT has done though. I swear if he was Mo's size he would be putting up Malone type numbers.

I think Kenny has improved significantly on defense. I also think he's fine-tuned his game a bit. But he probably could have done most of this last year, given the minutes.

Dallas Rocket: Right on! Kenny is an excellent passer. For a black hole: See Harrington, Othella.

I noticed that assist-stat line too. Anyone care to explain how Kenny racked up those assists? Is it because of a new wrinkle in the system? If so, what is it, and what are its implications?

Kenny hasn't gotten the credit he deserves for slimming down and getting into shape this off-season. He came to camp ready to compete with Mo for the starting spot. I'm not sure how much weight he lost but he's become much more effective driving to the basket where as last year he would take three or four quick dribbles and shoot.

Jerry Stackhouse to me has improved some from his ball hogging days, he realised he can actually pass the ball sometimes.

I think Thomas should get some consideration, though I do see Wally Sczcerbiak as a more likely winner.
