Does anyone know the status on his injury? When he'll be back? I'm starting to wonder what place he'll even have in the rotation now. Winning 5 of the last 6 without him... Makes one wonder. But we don't want to jump the gun... Dream has been very pleasing, as always. And Collier has shown some bright spots. Gotta be bad news for Kelvin. ------------------
Why is this bad news for Cato?Next year when Dream is gone Cato will be a very important cog for this team.Is he the answer?I'm not sure, but due to the injury we'll have to wait a little longer to find out. ------------------ Mitch Meluskey...The real Slim Shady
I was thinking he might just maybe possibly... be traded... It doesn't look like we need him anymore. I'm probably wrong on this... ------------------
Just b/c the Rockets are playing well w/o Cato does not mean they dont need him. Hakeem Olajuwon's recent improved play has helped put a bandaid on the issue of interior defense. If Hakeem were not playing well and Cato were hurt, this team would be in a world of hurt and would be giving up a ton of points. The Rockets are really going to need Cato's interior defense esp when Hakeem retires. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
I would actually like to see Dream come back next season. He is still miles ahead of Cato. ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
Finn-- I too would LOVE to see Dream come back next year, if he can continue to play the way he currently is. I think having Cato in the lineup helps out, though. Although I am a major critic of Mr. Taylor, I think one reason our guards are outrebounding our forwards is because opposing guards are taking the ball to the basket more often with nobody there to block the shot...or even contest it. When we go to our small lineup (no Dream) guards take the ball inside, with our guards guarding them. They are more in position to get rebounds than normally. Having Cato down low should make them think twice about taking the ball to the rack. Not that Taylor's rebounds are any more acceptable now...I'm just trying to make up off-the-wall excuses for the guy...I want to like him, I really do..... ------------------ Jazzkiller
Cato would really help our fast break alot. he'd also be a good guy to dish to off mobes ISO's if he has worked on catching the ball. and we could use him for our trapping and pressure defense. ------------------ --TEX [This message has been edited by TeXaSalsa (edited November 26, 2000).]
IMHO Dream, Cato, & Collier give the Rockets 3 styles and 18 fouls. This kind of competition is good for the team. Cato went down on Nov.2 and the original estimate was 4 to 6 weeks. Nov. 30 is 4 weeks and Dec. 14th is 6 weeks. Since not much is being said, I hope it's not like the Penny Hardaway thing - more serious than the team will admit. ------------------ GATER
I was going to ask the same question until I saw the post, but no one that has replied has answered the question that was the main point of the post! Does anyone know the status on his injury? When he'll be back? Sorry, I'd like to now delete this but apparently only the big boys can delete individual posts. [This message has been edited by Rocket Freak (edited November 27, 2000).]
MManal: Do you know any way to speed up his training/learning/progression? I'm not too impressed with his learning curve. And like Cuttino insinuated a couple of weeks ago, "the big men are sissies" (I'm sure he was talking about Cato, not Dream). These issues have to disappear if Kelvin is our man for the future. And I hope he is. He's got so much talent, so much raw ability, but... Something's gotta change. ------------------
