There have been a lot of people saying a lot of things about Walt Williams this season, but I am telling you now- Effective as soon as this season is over, Walt has value in the NBA. With the zone being allowed next year, it will be a chance for shooters to shine. If teams do not have a couple of good shooters, it will be much tougher for them to win. Walt and Bullard will have quite a bit more importance to this team next year. But, now that Walt has value, he is probably decent trade bait, so the Rockets might look into getting rid him while he does have value. Do the Rockets trade him while he is valuable, or keep him and use him for his shooting next year? I am now in favor of keeping him, but I know a lot of people wouldn't mind seeing him traded. What do you think? ------------------
You have got to be kidding, Walt is just in the way of a more talented and confident Dan Langhi. Get rid of Walt, you can not count on him for jack. DaDakota ------------------ If you like RTS games, check out this one. www.frontierwars.com coming soon to a PC near you.
Keep him. Walt is good. He can contribute good things to this team next year, zone or no zone. ------------------ Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is the greatest player in the history of basketball. If you disagree, you are not a Rocket fan. Protrolls.com!
Walt is an albatross on our cap. Projections for him range at about 4-5 mill. Cap Space would be more useful. ------------------ "That's been a lifelong dream of mine." -Vince Carter, after laying it in on a breakaway, much to the Vancouver crowd's displeasure.
Walt has one year left on his current contract and that makes him prime-ass U.S. approved Grade A trade bait. Except that the DC/Francis connection makes him probably semi-buds with Webber, too. ------------------
I also would like Walt Williams to remain a Houston Rocket. Williams has done so much for this team. He is one of the veterans on this team that our younger players look up to. He has good chemistry with this team. Remember, Rudy Tomjanovich said Williams is vital to this team's future. Williams also said he does not want to be traded. ------------------
Like what exactly? That's not good if it is that way, they should have someone with a better attitude to look up to. Too often the guy plays like he doesn't really care if they are winning or losing. So does the towelboy, I would think...but he doesn't take up 4-5 mio. $$ in cap space without delivering appropriate value for it. Only if he can be used as trade bait to get somebody better. Who cares. Get rid of him, Shandon and especially Cato.
Walt is a worthless part of our team. I would rather see lahngi out there, becasue at least he has a chance of improving. Walt is a faded, mediocre player. ------------------
