Sorry, don't see how T-Mac and Yao will work, two softies. It's time to break them up. If you want to keep T-Mac then trade Yao for a tougher players.

I don't see any points you listed for T-Mac. In Orlando, he got scoring champion but his team only won 19 game. It was the team playing for him and not he playing for the team. He is doing the simillar thing this year to Rox. Hate to see his attitude when playing, and smiling on the bentch when Rox lossing by double digits night from night. Hate to see every time, Rox loses in a predicted way: when the game is tight, he misses jump shoot when there is still 20 secs left on the clock.

No doubt that T-Mac is a guy who can put a show, and got great numbers. But he is not cltuch and playing without heart when needed. I wonder are you really believe a superstar, who never got out of first round, can bring Houston a championship. I'd rather believe him can bring a scoring champion.

13 points in 35 seconds seems kind of clutch to me... This whole getting out of the 1st round stuff is complete bull*****. 3 Seasons ago, he and Yao were the only ones who showed up to play in game 7 against Dallas. I don't care if you're Michael freakin Jordan - you are going to lose if only 3 other ppl on your team score.

Kobe hasn't gotten out of the 1st round since Shaq left. How come nobody is calling him a loser?

If you're truly fans of the Houston Rockets, how about you be a little more supportive of your team? The season is full of ups and downs... and we're still only two and a half games out of the last playoff spot. ;)

im not sure the following are true:
    - Makes his teammates better (teammates sucks)
    - He doesn't have an overinflated ego (thats because he doesn't even want to win)
    - T-Mac is a sensational jump shooter/slasher (first time I heard this)
    - He has great heart and holds responsibility high on his shoulders (uhh hearts?)
    - Two superstars are better than one (not 2 injury prone soft superstars)

13 points in 35 seconds was history.I just feel that he is not as he used to be.How could a person having heart could smlie with a two digit loss and with himself like 7/20?
As a leader,he should not just jumpshoot while he is cold. Suppose I were with such a leader, I will feel frustrated.
Tracy should make some change for RA's new system, try to play with his teammates differently. If he cant find his position, maybe leaving is good for him too.I used to like this guy very much.but i'm puzzled now.

Can you name a second guy other than T-Mac, who makes 20 m a year but never went out of the first round? Kobe! As I remember has has three rings. What? that's because of Shaq. Of cause, basketball is a team sport. Why Kobe was so lucky that he played with good teammates. But how come a guy like T-Mac, who makes his teammates better, always played bad teammates. How did a guy, who was a scoring champion, but his team only won 19 games out of 82. I oberserved that his scoring increased this season, but Rox was not playing well. There is no doubt that he can get another score champion this season, but Rox will get lottery pick next year, or even get sombody like D. Howard. Ya, imagine what that will bring Rox after Rox get another D Howard, T-Mac and Howard with Yao coming from bentch. Rox will win 7 champion in a raw. :D

I'm tired of seeing him getting in and out of the lineup. I shudder to think of it happening in the playoffs.

I totally agree with you that T-mac should stay. Last year in the playoffs, T-mac played better that Yao.

If we trade McGrady then we trade him To Miami for Williams, Davis, Mourning, Wright who are all expiring and have alot of flexibility to sign 2 All-Stars to play with Yao next season.[/QUOTE]
Nice Trade, and it is possible.

I am in favor of keeping him unless a trade makes the team better.

ANY player is expedeble if it makes the Rockets better.

GREAT post! T-Mac will be back and the Rox will climb right back into the mix of things.

That's true but we're not going to get fair value for trading him and I really don't want a bunch of scrubs b/c we've seen Yao cannot carry this team by himself.

you're not a rockets fan. you're a t-mac fan. if you were an actual rockets fan, you'd want to trade him also. watching this guy play is pathetic, in terms of effort.

We'd never get equal value in trading him. I'd rather see this through with Yao and McGrady. Then start rebuilding. It's alot more fun watching a team that at least has a chance, than watching a team "fight" to get a good lottery pick.

I am a Rockets fan first and foremost. Its not my fault that fans on this board are so short sighted in their views. If you think we could get anywhere in the playoffs w/o Tmac - you're crazy.

People always talk about all this heart that Yao has. My question is - whats the big deal? Dude puts up 25 and 10 a game but can't carry a team to victory. So what if he looks all anguished on the bench? Isn't that worse - considering he can't do anything about the loss? Yao is what he is - a strong post prescence who can't close games....

Its not Yao or Tmacs fault that we're going through a bad run. If we got decent play from our 3 through 8 guys, we can play with anybody. If we got that type of effort in the Denver game or the shooting from the Chicago game from our bench, we're definitely a dangerous team.

People actually think that by trading Tmac, we can sign 2 ALLSTARS during the offseason. ARE YOU PEOPLE INSANE? Last time I checked, Rashard Lewis got 16 million a year and the markets only going up. Luol Deng refused to sign for 11 million a year and Ben Gordon turned down 10 per.

So who are we gonna get for that 20 million? I would love to hear some reasonable suggestions right now from some of you people.

Bottom line is - you're gonna get ripped off if you trade T-Mac. I think thats been proven with all the other trades of big name superstars the last few years.

Bring T-Mac and Hayes off the bench and start Scola and Bonzi/Head. I would like Head over Bonzi because he seems to play well with Yao cutting down the baseline. I know bringing T-Mac off the bench may sound crazy BUT it will always be a definite spark off the bench and he and Hayes play very well together and with Bonzi coming in as well thats a low post scoring option. I'm just saying if T-Mac isn't going anywhere soon, this may be something worth trying out.

Thanks for saying it. I say things like this in my noggin all the time reading around here. I'm typically too lazy to argue and type it.

The problem is not Tracy and Yao's play. It's everyone else's. Nevermind that, review any big name trade in recent history. What happened to the team that traded said big name player?

I know the Magic weren't doing too well. While we looked better. The Magic did play badly enough to get Howard.

Let's see...Minnesota and Garnett...hmmm, MN not doing too well. Boston is ballin it up.

Shaq from LA...LA just now looking like a team, Shaq won at least 1 ring in Miami.

Ray Allen to Boston. Boston winning. Sonics...eh. Who also lost Rashard. Magic doing better.

    See a trend here?

Well said! Especially the first part. I'm not sure how TMac became the scapegoat for everything wrong with the Rockets. I think the same exact thing when I see the TMac bashing going on. I'd feel the same way if there was a bunch of Yao bashing too. Both players have flaws, but we're alot better off with them than without. We need our role players to step up, pure and simple.

Rashard is getting $16 million to shoot 3s and not a whole lot else. He's also very injury prone and only a marginal star. He ain't carrying anyone's team. By that, I'd say McGrady is a bargain at $20 million.

I just don't see how trading McGrady is going to make the team any better. If people are complaining now, I could just imagine. With McGrady, our team still has a high ceiling.

I hate bashing any players, but other than Yao he has Battier, Hayes, and Rafer starting with him. I won't get into it, I just would like to see a better group of guys surrounding McGrady before we trade him. I'm not naive though, I know its very difficult with both Yao and McGrady's salary on the books to make moves.
