It looks like he's earned the backup pf spot. Well not quite earned, but he's taken it from Novak. The past few games, he's gotten some minutes, but has taken some bad shots when trying to do too much, and his rebounding isn't all that great, nothing compared to Hayes. And it seems that whenever he's on the court, the Rockets do worse. I don't know. This guy is a cancer on the floor somehow.

well to say the rockets do worse when he is on the floor isn't fair.

the rockets do worse when yao ISN'T on the floor. unfortunately everything is riding on him this season thanks to tmac deciding to become a role player.

hopefully, novak will earn back the backup PF spot because i'm tired of seeing juwon get out rebounded and burned on defense. he doesn't seem to do anything right. he plays hard, but not well at all.

Well said docgundy. Juwan has always been a cancer and continues to be so...

It doesnt take genius to figure out that his presence hurts the Rockets.

EVERYTIME he is on the floor, Rockets lose their lead.

He is a liability in every aspect. Defense or offense.

2 times he has tried a post move this season, and both times he has been utterly embarassed. First time he was eaten up by Simmons, a guard. Second time he was embarassed by a rookie tonight against the Knicks.

Why do people continue to insist that he has a post game?!?!?!?!

On defense, he is just watching while his man grabs the offensive rebound.

In spite of all this, the scrub keeps getting minutes.

Yes, clearly those 13 minutes he played and 2 shots he took were far too much and caused the Rockets all sorts of problems.

With all of the dribble penetration that the Rockets were giving up, I'm not surprised Novak didn't play. It's not like we needed his 3-point shooting help and he is both a defensive and rebounding liability.

I have no doubt he'll get time and I'm sure he'll do great eventually. But, tonight was not the night and Howard was not the problem.

that's all he needs to say. We seriously don't need a juwan sucks thread every 2 ****ing days. enough already. Don't come crying when you get shut out after a big win because of bandwidth issues, becuase **** like this doesn't help it at all. AT ALL.

I think Juwan is a necessity on this team.. Juwan has size that this teams needs. yes juwan is not as good as he once was but he is still serviceable.... At this point i think he is a better all around option then Novak... that's not saying that i wouldn't like to see Steve out there more, i just think that his amazing shooting doesnt make up for his lack of: strength, rebounding, and all around NBA smarts......................

for at least the 1st half of the season this team needs juwan

my problem with him is that he doesn't add anything. he may not over-shoot, he may not turn the ball over... sure he's not a big negative, but he does nothing on the plus side.

he is only getting minutes because there is no one else. i would bet that by the end of the year the team has found someone to play the 4 behind hayes.

Sometimes a player that does nothing (including make mistakes) can be useful.

Juwan has a place on this team and will see a lot more action this year. he'll be a 15 mpg rotation player.

Why isn't Novak getting any minutes at all? I am not saying that he needs a lot of minutes or anything like that, but when we are up and its garbage time, let the kid play. In the one preseason game i saw (Heat v. Rox on ESPN), he hit three 3's in a row. What else does he need to do? I know he needs to pick up his D, but lets see if he can give us some offense b/c there are going to be nights when we need people other than Yao, TMac, and Shane to chip in a few points for us or to spread the floor!

that's a good point, and that's why i don't mind him playing. however, if we're going to be a great team, then everyone has to contribute something more than doing nothing.

if the rockets could find a trade for a really good rebounding, defensive, F/C...believe me they would do it and bench Jho.

Yes and being a discussion board makes it alright to start new threads every couple days or so complaining about the same exact **** as before.
