How can people claim sushi is the best? I had crab sushi with wasabi and it tasted very bitter. I think it might've been the sesame seeds, but it was gross. How can you people stand the taste?

I can't. The texture made me gag the one time I tried sushi, and the people watching me gagged nearly gagged too. It was awesome, but I'd never sushi again. I have a weak stomach when it comes to uncooked meat; I've never been able to eat beef that isn't cooked at least medium well. A rare steak will make me gag every time.

well "us people" typically try more than one type of sushi. crab sushi? i guess you mean california rolls? try some fatty tuna, salmon, and some unagi (eel). then come back and tell us what you thought.

Crab shushi? Seriously, get some tuna or salmon. Spicey tuna roll.

I doesn't taste like chicken, that's for sure. I think it's more of an aquired taste for some, but I like it.

I had an enormous pile of sushi and sashimi last night.
    It was absolutely fantastic.

ButtPlug4nlp056, maybe you had too much wasabi.

For your next experience, please try the most simple kinds of sushi. The suggestions above are very strong ones.

Sushi rules! Like everyone else said, try a few more kinds. I hate pizza with canadian bacon on it, but that doesn't mean I hate pizza now does it?

I forget what the green sauce is that burns straight through your nostrils but I did a mean prank with it once. Used it at a party and mixed it with some stuff to make it look like guacamole. Left it on the table and got an enormous kick out of the facial expressions people left as they were gagging off of it.

It is an acquired taste and not all sushi is raw. But it helps when you are half-Japanese and have eaten it all your life. :D

Wasabi! Sushi is worthless without the wasabi. Mix the wasabi with the soy sauce. Mmmmmmmmmmmm...

I hope you actually tried sushi at a REAL sushi place, not some at some cheap ass buffet. If you want to try the REAL stuff go to Miyako or even Todai. California and Philly rolls are the best. :D

Another good sushi place in Houston is KOTO, on Westheimer near wilcrest.

    Damn good... and very cheap.

They actually give you tons of food for your $$$, unlike some Japanese restaruants.
