What shocks me about Jay Williams is his soul. It's made of marshmallow, much too soft right now for NBA stardom and too sensitive to survive in the big city....There are times to be critical of raw deals in life, including the bad karma of winding up with a Jerry Krause operation, but before you do so, your own house should be in order.

Seems Jay's crib is in shambles.

This was back when the question marks surrounded Yao Ming, not Jay Williams. The only gray areas dealt with how Williams would coexist with another player who demands the ball—Jalen Rose—and how he would adjust to a rebuilding situation after all that winning in high school and at Duke.

Sixty-two games into Williams' rookie season, gray is fading to black.

I called this...Go look it up. Jay is a good player, MAYBE he can become somewhat near great, but I doubt he'd ever be a top 10 PG in this League, and that's why I thought it'd be a waste to use a top 10 pick on him. What's funny is Vitale's article talking about how the Rockets should draft Jay over Yao...but we already know he's just a cheerleader so...

Jay is good, but he will never be as impactful to one team as Yao.
