PHILADELPHIA - Eddie Jordan coached his 41st and final home game as head coach of the 76ers on Monday.

The spirited 107-105 loss to the Heat meant the Sixers ended with their worst home record (12-29) since going 11-30 with Johnny Davis in 1996-97 and halted a streak of 11 straight winning seasons at the Wachovia Center, dating back to 1997-98 (19-22).

"We had a horrible home record," said Elton Brand.

An NBA source confirmed that Jordan will be fired after one season on the bench. The only question is how soon it'll happen following Wednesday's season finale in Orlando.

Season-ending meetings with the players are scheduled for Thursday.

"Disappointing," said team president Ed Stefanski pregame. "I think the big word is inconsistent throughout the season. Players are embarrassed. We have to rectify it. We will next year. We'll look at every option that's out there.

"We're going to evaluate everything top to bottom. We'll make changes that are necessary."

As for keeping his position, Stefanski said he hasn't been given assurances that he'll return or not.

"I'm doing my job as I'm supposed to do," Stefanski said.

Asked afterward if he's relieved that the regular season is nearly finished, Jordan said, "I wouldn't say relief. It's not the end. We have one more game to play. I don't feel relief."

Jason Kapono (24 points) and rookie Jodie Meeks (21) combined for 45 points to lead the Sixers in scoring. Kapono made his last nine shots and was 10-for-12 in the game, including 4-for-5 from 3-point land, to make him 9-for-12 in the last two after a 6-for-31 (19.4 percent) stretch beyond the arc in the previous six games. Meeks (5-for-9 on 3-pointers) is 11-for-20 from deep in the past three.

The 27-54 Sixers converted 12 of 25 3-pointers (48 percent) after hitting 14 in Saturday's road victory over the Grizzlies.

As Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson and his buddies rooted for the Heat from their courtside seats, Dwayne Wade (game-high 30 points) drove, was surrounded and found Udonis Haslem at his preferred spot - 15 feet out on the left winning - for the winning jumper with 1.3 seconds remaining.

"Having a superstar to close out a game is an asset," said Kapono, a former teammate of Wade's. "Haslem has made that shot for nine straight years at a great clip."

Several Sixers claimed losing a game like this pretty well typified the type of season it's been.

"It kind of sums up this year," said Elton Brand. "We gave a lot of effort, but just couldn't finish."

"We had the game in our hands and we let it slip away," said Andre Iguodala.

Kapono, who rarely played from Jan. 1 until mid-March, said the Sixers seemed to be searching for an identity all season long.

"Camaraderie- and chemistry-wise, we just haven't found our flow, whether we're playing a big lineup or a small lineup," Kapono said. "We haven't really found a consistent style of play. We don't have anything to fall back on. Are we a scoring team or more of a half-court team? Are we a fast-breaking team or more of a trapping, attacking team?

"It's been a rough year, individually and as a unit."
