Sitting here watching Jordan Hill in action, i cant help but think Can Jordan Hill shape his game around AMARE Stoudemire? He has the size, the body built, the quickness (kinda). He is very young, and i think is go has plenty of room for growth and success in the NBA. Just a little bit for disipline and patience will get him there I think. Any Thoughts??? What does he have to work on, to get to Amare Stoudemire style and level?
Why would you lock this thread? I think Hill has the potential to be very good, but I don't know if he can get to Stoudemire's level. However, he's already much tougher than Amare, IMO. He needs to learn how to make the right cut at the right time, which is what makes Amare a special player (that and Nash).
Probably because Amare was a hell of a lot more gifted offensively in his rookie year than Hill has shown in his best showings? While Hill's potential on defense dwarfs what Amare brings to the table on that end.
Nah. He won't be the next Amare. Still, he could be a very good PF and that's fine with me. He just won't be elite.
Amare Stoudemire is an unknown quantity as he is playing with the aid of the best Playmaker Point Guard in the NBA, So I would not want Hill to become another Amare as we do not have a Nash on our team, infact far from it! I would rather see Jordan Hill become a great player named Jordan Hill!!
Hill is on his way already. He just needs to implant a couple hundred fast twitch muscle fibers in his legs and he'll be the next Amar'e.
Best-case scenario: Chris Bosh. Worst-case: Etan Thomas. Most likely: A more defensive-oriented version of Jermaine O'Neal. Hill's most consistent offensive weapon is a baby hook shot, and he's trying to develop a steady mid-range game. Hill will be less skilled offensively, but he'll be a more imposing interior defender and rebounder, and a more vicious finisher than O'Neal. In his prime, I see Hill averaging around 14 PPG, 9 RPG, 2.5 BPG, and shooting around 75% from the line.
When Stoudamire came on the scene, he could immediately jump out of the gym. Landry also has the same kind of elevation from complete standstill capability. Hill isn't one of those kinds of leapers. He's not quite Scola, but he's not like Stoudamire.
Exactly. There's a thing called biometrics that puts Amar'e many many levels above what Jordan Hill can ever hope to do.
There's a this stuff called bionics that we can use with Hill. Better than he was before Better, Stronger, Faster
dont think he'll be like Amare, Stoudemire came strait outa high school doin the things hes doin now minus the jumper, he was all power.. Hill doesnt have that but granted he just started playin a couple years back actually theyre games are kinda opposite starting out, Hill has the finesse game with his midrange jumper and hes quite physical but he doesnt have the strength yet.. if he bulks up and he'll get stronger as he continues to grow into his man body he can be the post-knee surgery Amare and thats still dam good
IMO, in the Grizz game, I think he made it a point to show that they made a mistake by choosing Tabeet instead of him.
