I have come to a decision that I think is a fair compromise. DBC and others argue that because we started with the original rosters, he should go to Washington. However, there are also several who say that he should go in a lottry, since the game has changed drastically since the start.

The decision I've come to is that Michael Jordan will go into the common draft pool. It doesn't automatically give him to the Wizards, so that rule is upheld, but Washington can still grab him cause they have the top pick. This will also set a future precedent for all returning players-- they will go into the common draft pool.

By the way, I still need the next player protected from the following teams:

    Phoenix
    San Antonio
    Miami
    Boston

If I do not receive lists from these teams tonight by 10 or so, I will protect their next best player in my estimation for them.

By the way, I am protecting Etan Thomas for this round.

Tomorrow, after we are completely finished with this, I will pick two players from each team. You will then choose which one of those goes into the common draft pool. The deadline for that decision will be Tuesday. We will probably hold the draft next weekend, or sometime near then.

What I do need, however, is THIS:

Everyone below please post the picks you own for this year's draft. If you cannot remember all of them, just post what you remember and/or know you have. I will sort out all confusion over any unclaimed picks or picks claimed by more than one team later. Just post a list like this:

    Houston Rockets

    1st Round Picks-- Rockets
    2nd Round Picks- None

Try and get this draft stuff done asap...

No picks. I guess my 2nd rounder is owned the Warriors now, and the Spurs have my 1st rounder.

Could the league have some pre-draft sims with Mj so he can get a stat line?

Sorry rimmy - I did not confirm. I could not decide if I wanted to risk getting a much worse player at #6

So you have #6, and I have #3.

    Sixers:

    1st round: Magic (#3), Sixers (#24?)
    2nd round: Magic (#30)

See now, I don't understand how this works.

It doesn't matter what happens in the real NBA.

Thats what the sim is about right?

Rice was traded to Houston, so should Cat get him?

Joe Smith resigned with the Wolves, should I get him?

Brand was traded to the Clips, should SCF get him?

Now, I have no problem with his being placed in the common draft(As I consider it fair)

Just wondering why he would automatically be given to DBC.

Well the 2nd deadline has now gone and these were the protections. Now wait for The Cat's selections for each team.

    Mavs Benjamin
    Rockets E.Thomas
    Jazz Kukoc
    Wolves Sabonis
    Bucks Smith
    Sixers Robinson
    Blazers Dream
    Spurs R.Davis
    Celtics Jackson
    Knicks Ostertag
    Pacers Delk
    Nets Wesley
    Grizzlies J.Johnson
    Kings J.Jackson
    Suns Horry
    Sonics Outlaw
    Clippers Amaechi
    Lakers Rogers
    Heat B.Knight
    Bulls B.Miller
    Pistons Murphy
    Wizards White
    Nuggets Cook
    Raptors Rogers
    Hawks Billups
    Cavs A.Jones
    Hornets Nailon
    Magic Hassell
    Warriors Cisse

For the Rockets we will have to find another solution as The Cat can not select for himself.

His remaining roster is: Russell, Fisher, Hunter, Curry and Massenburg. We has a short discussion in the chat and decided that Russell should be one of the two, but had a hard time deciding over who should be the other. We thought it should be one of these two:

    *G Derek Fisher - about 4.5 pts, 2 asst in 12 min
    *C Stephen Hunter - about 4.3 pts, 3 reb in 14 min

If Cat can list their full statline that might help us decide. Everybody come with your input. We will let the majority of the GMs with an opinion decide within the next few days. Take into account that they are playing diferent positions when you judge the stats.

*) The stats are what Cat could remember in the chat.

Of course if you feel Curry or Massenburg should go you could also voice that opinion.

I think it should be Fisher. He seems to be the more valuable player of the two. He was fairly productive in a backup PG role when he was on my team.

    Fisher.

Hunter and Fisher produce similar numbers, Hunter is younger than Fisher and has more upside than Fisher.

I think it should be Hunter instead of Fisher...
