Joel Przybilla is really playing well this year. I went to a game a couple weeks ago and he looked pretty athletic. Over the past two months he is avg 8 and 10. I think the rockets should try to trade for him. He could be our new cato w/o the absurd contract.

Don't forget he can block as well. Averaging 3.2 blocks for the last month as well as double digit rebounds. Late fantasy surprise that's for sure. Wonder how he would play on a good team though.

    it is al Collier's fault:mad:

seriously, i wouldn't mind having przybilla. But i wouldn't trade howard and spoon for him(and salary wise that is impossible). so i do not know how we can get him.

CD really dropped the ball by trading him, as usual. If we only had the patience to wait those 5 short years...

Stop whining. Portland let Jermaine O'neil and even Michael Jordan get away. Their franchise is cursed until this day. Let them have Przybilla. Guys, we won two lotteries out of shear luck and we have Hakeem, Clyde, Yao and then TMac. A franchise who got four Hall of Famers with two #1 picks is deprived of the right of whining, especially over guys like Przybilla, Lewis, Jefferson...

Quite frankly, I am shocked at what Zilla is doing these days. Mostly the blocked shots. Ususually you either have that instinct or you dont. He sure as heck didnt look quick his first few years in the league and then all of a sudden the guy is REALLY quick and is blocking shots right and left? Amazing really!

Someone will eventually pay a ton of money for him. Just the nature of Bigs in the NBA. I bet the Blazers wish they hadnt extended Theo's contract and just went with Zilla.

I wouldn't mind picking him up if it were with no real loss to our core group. I think he would be that perfect "protect Yao's" back type of player, however like has been stated, someone will unload a ton of cash on him at some point in the future

ya, Collier + a 1st i think for Pryzbilla was the trade originall...was really a stretch....I always thought that Pryzbilla would have been a serviceable center....he was very athletic and a good shot blocker.... oh well

My favorite was last year when people were prepared to give the full MLE to the Italian national team PG.

We could have pursued him this year, I think we wisely moved for a vet instead (Deke). I think we can get another year out of Deke. Then consider another backup center in 06, of which Pryzbilla would be one of the available free agents (Nene and Ben Wallace too).

I hated that Collier trade. That said, Milwalkee drafted Pryzbilla and got nothing in return for him. Had we originally drafted him he may or may not would be a Rocket.

IMHO, trading Przybilla was a good thing - this guy screams Jim McIlvane or Calvin Booth. I bet once he gets his contract, he lapses into mediocrity.

However, the mistake was using the Bucks 2000 pick on Collier. There were so many decent players left at that point (Magliore, Turkoglu, even Morris Peterson) that would have looked awfully good on our roster or could have made decent trade bait.

Of course, we wasted the 2001 pick we got from the Bucks on Eddie Griffin. So we got Collier and 1/3 of Eddie Griffin for Pryzbilla.

Yeah I guess that was a bad trade.

Joel Przybilla only had 8 points and 7 rebounds against us., and I never said trade our best players for him. He has a shown a lot of skills the few times I've seen him play. I think Przybilla is a legit player in the league.
