I saw it live. I couldn't stop laughing! Here's an audio link: http://home.kc.rr.com/mkbaslee/namath.mp3
Thanks guy's. He sounds like he's drunk. He's slurring his words. That was a great idea to put him on the air. What was almost as funny is when he says "I could care less about the Jets". That was too funny.
You would think ESPN would have more quality control over these types of situations, and prep the interviewees before-hand to see if they're ready to go on the air. Then again, you would think professional HOF player and ex-broadcaster Joe Namath would be smarter to think that he couldn't just "wing it" when it came to being very drunk and having to give analysis. For what its worth... his points were decent, minus the speech slurring and slow-paced talking.
What was even more unbelievable... they cut away for a play and came back to Hammered Joe for more commentary.
Good point. That would have been a perfect time for the producer to pull the plug on old Broadway Joe. What the hell was he thinking about? I'm sure Suzy had something to say to the producer when the game was over. That's almost as bad as the time Howard Cosell got drunk on Monday Night Football.
Exactly...I thought, WTF is Joe doing...Classic... Hey, she's pretty hot so I'd be saying the same thing...I guess Viagra really does work...
*right click* *save as 'drunken.dumbass.mp3"* Thanks, that was classic! I just sent it to everyone I work with. I was wondering what they were talking about this morning on 610.
We're talking about the man whose wild, untamed facial hair made the mother of America's most famous citizen Homer Simpson change her lifestyle.
I think its hysterical, but I feel bad for his wife. Her husband just made a pass at another woman in front of a million football fans on primetime television.
I figured something would be mentioned about this on ESPN or at least on their website, but nothing. Could it be that they are genuinely embarrassed by Broadway Joe's behavior?? Oh and I would SOOOO kiss Suzy Kolber!
