Hey, everyone. Most of you know that Clutch and I own a web development firm, Two Roads Media, Inc. Most of you also know that rocketeer is our main designer - and he's amazing.

But, we are really starting to add a lot of work and we're looking for an additional desinger to help out. If you have rocketeer's skills, great, but few do. :D

This would be a contract job so it would be on a project-by-project basis for now with possible full time work by next year. Pay depends on the scope of the project but we can discuss that privately.

Until probably spring of next year, you would need to do the work on your time and on your machine. We are looking at possible expansion early next year but, for now, you would do the work from home using your equipment.

    Requirements:

Solid Graphic Design skill and experience working with web-related design
    Excellent communication skills and self-discipline
Ability to work under deadlines and deliver on time

    Computer Skills (required):

    Photoshop
    Illustrator or equivalent
Basic HTML or use of HTML editors such as Dreamweaver

Computer Skills (optional, but great if you have them):

    Flash
    Advanced HTML
Any other related web development skills - PHP, ASP, Cold Fusion, SQL, MySQL, etc.

If you are interested, you can post a message here or drop an email to info@tworoadsmedia.com. Please include your resume and portfolio or link to your online portfolio if you have one.

For some of the designs we've created, check http://www.tworoadsmedia.com/portfolio.html .

    Thanks!!!

Yeah, absolutely. I should have said that if you know someone, feel free to pass it along.

Just as an aside, we do not need a person who lives in the Houston area, but that would be preferable.

I forwarded the info to a friend of mine I went through the UTA advertising program with. I think he's very talented, and he's one of those musician-types.

But anyway, if you hear from a John Robinson. That's the guy I'm talking about.

I have those skills and more, but currently work full time and I have too much going on personally to try doing it on the side.

BTW, Jeff, would you or Clutch be interested in attending the Cold Fusion Users Group meetings?

My co-worker and I lead it in the Houston area and have a meeting each month. Tonight, I'm doing a presentation on advanced CSS and then we're gonna do a group study session for CF certification.

You're certainly welcome to attend! And we always raffle free Macromedia stuff, too.

Thanks for the invite. That is definitely a possibility. I've been invited before. I'm not a CF guy, myself and Clutch isn't in Houston, but I would certainly be interested in checking out future meetings. I do most of the CSS stuff, so that is one thing with which I am very familiar.

Jeff, from your experience, do people prefer framed pages or single page navigation ?

    :)

I know you asked Jeff specifically, but let me interrupt with my two cents.

    No frames. Bad.
Frames complicate site navigation. It causes people to bookmark the incorrect page. It confuses people as to what the page url is.

    frames bad.

    Frames = bad

They not only make it difficult to navigate, but they also impede the ability of search engines to index your site.
